It is possible that Hong Kong will be the spark that tips over the Chinese Communist Party. Especially if the protests spread to Taiwan and Macau.  

If the communist party in China falls and we see the ultimate and final "China Unbans Bitcoin" we will soar to 100k in a matter of months

I was too young to know what was going on in Tiananmen Square when it happened and I think the media brainwashed me as a child to just remember some guy standing on a tank. I was reading up on it the other day and holy shit, I didnt know the commies killed 2500 to 10k protestors

I'm old enough to remember watching the protesters on CNN with their lady liberty statue and such. I also remember one of the reporters pointing out that "this group's idea of democracy is not quite the same as the US idea of democracy".

In a way, that event happened not too long after the "Great Leap Forward" and the "Zeal" of the "Cultural Revolution". There was a lot of insanity in China at that time after Mao's death and the Gang of Four. One could posit that the new regime, having spent decades in "re-education camps" under Mao was not too thrilled at the idea of another "Revolution" and this time suppressed it brutally.

You do have to agree though that after the protests Mao and his remaining supporters were GONE. And China would like to keep them GONE. They will never admit error, but Mao and his people were not.... very.... good....

Wow, China really is adept at censoring what their citizens see.

I feel like the Western media must have been influenced by China to somehow softly censor what happened, because I dont ever seen any mentions of actual deaths when American media talks about Tienanmen Square. Just  "human rights" or "tank man".

They glibly gloss over the thousands of murdered students every single time.

If those students had been illegal immigrants I suppose we would have nuked China already.

Observing $10350. This is not only a good 10% recovery but also a strong bullish signal. To be able to cross two resistance lines at 10 000 and 10 200 less than a day after the bottom at 9400-ish is awesome. The major resistance at 12 000 is the next big target. Not really: The satellite feeds were cut, the journalists taken out, and the army moved in at night. Next morning all was well.

It's tough to say how many people died that night. Leaders and others were rounded up over the next few months, it was a pretty complete suppression. However keep in mind that tens of millions died under the idiocy of the "Great Leaps", which should serve as a reminder of how bad it can be when insane people get into power.
