Jbreher grand world monetary reset may be coming sooner than later.
Maybe. My preparations have been in for decades. I ain't trying to time this crash. I too see a recession on the horizon. for what I think will be then next recession. Not selling any BTC/Crypto though. I mean a recession is a 20% hit against your traditional investments, I figure 40% hit myself, a deep recession. A 'deep recession' is categorically different from a grand monetary reset. So hell, as coping mechanisms, as my way to stumble through life crutch, what am I going to do next?
Water. (I think this is a major weakness of most preparations. While you can't really move it if you need to move, it can make the difference between being able to shelter in place, and needing to move.) Bullets, Bandages, and Beans. Fitness. Defensible space. Practical skills knowledge. Small denomination real money. I'm american, so pre-1964 coinage (silver) for me. Build a bunker under the house and/or learn how to can veggies?
Sure. Don't just learn - set in a supply. If it gets so bad as I need to do the above, I will 'become' a minimalist and everything goes and it would likely be out of the country for me. In a grand world monetary reset, 'out of the country' accomplishes exactly nothing. Sure, other parts of the world are already closer to subsistence scrabbling than we currently-fortunate yanks, but that only means we have farther to fall, not that the depths will be any worse. Well, after the 'new normal' is established between the prepared individuals, and the bands of nomadic marauders.

do we really want smart contracts and dapps on the bitcoin blockchain? the ethereum blockchain for example is full of shit, think about dapps like cryptokitties.
I don't think this script will enable full Smart Contract features. to write up “smart contracts” or conditions for spending bitcoins It'll probably be a feature to lock and release/send bitcoins when certain conditions met. I don't see dApps here. (they have no real world use anyway)

1 Bitcoin is still worth more than 1 sex. We can reach sex climax but we still didn't reach bitcoin's climax.
Here’s a question for you guys. (In an alternate life you get a decision) You can have 10,000 BTC now but you have to sign a contract to never have sex again. Oral sex is allowed though. Sign it or not? Sign easily. For 10k BTC you can have your dick sucked 24/7 for your entire life. Damn, perhaps you can even have roach suck it now and then for some BTC dust.

Pieter Wuille Unveils ‘Miniscript,’ A New Smart Contract Language for BitcoinSmart contracts could soon get a boost in bitcoin as prominent programmer Pieter Wuille has unveiled a new coding language designed specifically for their use.
Posted to the bitcoin developer mailing list Monday, the ‘Miniscript’ language aims to make it easier for programmers to write up “smart contracts” or conditions for spending bitcoins. Programmers Wuille, Andrew Poelstra and Sanket Sanjalkar have been working on the code for roughly a year, Wuille said.
Although it’s been shared around behind the scenes, Wuille said he is now posting it to the email list because it’s now it’s reached “a stage where I’d like to get it some more attention.”
Backing up a bit, “Script” is the smart contracting language in bitcoin, which allows users to specify certain conditions need to be met before the bitcoin can be spent. Say, funds are locked up until a certain time before they can be spent. Or, two people need to sign off on a transaction before the money can be moved, a concept called “multi-sig.”
This programmability is novel when it comes to digital money, since before bitcoin, it wasn’t possible to implement such rules without trusting a bank or a similar type of intermediary in the middle. do we really want smart contracts and dapps on the bitcoin blockchain? the ethereum blockchain for example is full of shit, think about dapps like cryptokitties. Miniscript allows for one to elegantly write Bitcoin scripts in a way that is far more readable. Sure, it's a subset of Bitcoin script, nonetheless it makes the art of programming programmable money a whole lot easier. Check it out here: http://bitcoin.sipa.be/miniscript/

Sign. Contracts can be broken. Bitcoins are non-refundable. At the risk of breaking OpSec, I am likely to take a solo jaunt to Toronto in the next two months. Seriously thinking of inviting you out for a drink (no homo. promise.) I think you Will have an awesome time !! Bob, seriously know, when you come to Belgium..... There is NO other way as having a drink and dinner with me and my GF .....

No offense, really. This is a wall thread where news flow and get multiple repost. I’d be stupid to be offended by a repost, or pretend something because I posted earlier. No, I just wanted to draw attention on the other thread: it is maybe a better place discuss this new feature! Oh I cannot wait for your next recap: Xx. Fillippone get mad at me because of a repost!

Hello WO! Observing BTC@10,5888 Observing BTC while trekking remote regions: Spotty internet service cannot keep me away from WO! Oh yeah, and this picture is nice too. That's a good camera you have. I can't believe you get Wifi at all over there. That picture is from my phone. We usually haven’t internet service, or even service at all during the treks. When I have I go and check the forum, first. Not the price, that one is always 1 BTC=1BTC. To rocky to be Kalatungan I think... Maybe Apo? Amazingly beautiful. This is my new background.

All i have is 0.5 btc but i'm still happy with my life.

Interesting - the US savings rate has doubled since the financial crisis. There's another side effect of low or even negative rates, which is that economists are starting to believe they have the unintended consequence of boosting savings rates as consumers sock away even more of their earnings to make up for lost interest income.
At a recent 8.1 per cent, the personal savings rate in the US is double what it was heading into the financial crisis, when the target federal funds rate was 5.25 per cent. That can also be seen in the amount of excess liquidity at US banks, defined as deposits minus loans, which Fed data show has surged to $US3 trillion from about $US250 billion in 2008. https://www.afr.com/companies/financial-services/the-last-thing-banks-need-is-low-rates-20190820-p52ixq
