https://abc6onyourside.com/news/coronavirus/emergency-money-for-the-people-act-would-provide-2000-monthly-payments-to-americansFed. Res. Digitised Debt Note shitcoin monthly airdrops coming!! WASHINGTON, D.C. (WPDE) – Representatives Ro Khanna (CA-17) and Tim Ryan (OH-13) introduced the Emergency Money for the People Act Wednesday, April 15, to provide additional cash payments for Americans that have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, according to a release.
The act would provide more relief and includes a $2,000 monthly payment to every qualifying American over the age of 16 until employment returns to pre-COVID-19 levels. It also corrects a problem in the CARES Act to make sure college students and adults with disabilities can still receive the payments even if claimed as a dependant. It will also allow individuals to get money through direct deposit, check, pre-paid debit card, or mobile money platforms such as Venmo, Zelle, or Paypal. They missed a branding opportunity by not naming it the Emergency Money for the People Act To Help You.

Isn't the name of an act supposed to be the opposite of what the act actually does?

Guys, I bought a nice domain name a few months back related to bitcoin; it's still sitting in the dust. I wanted your suggestions about what to do with it. I've got some free time these days and thought of building a little bitcoin-related thing on it; something small like that "BRRRRR" page. It can also be related to Bitcointalk. The best suggestion, that I'll be considering for development and implementation, will get straight 20 Merits from me. Realtime quote tracker with a chart showing bitstamp price at each time the word "Coronavirus" is mentioned, coplotted with volume data for the number of mentions of #nohomo in between the time stamps. Background is a snowfall of xhomer's hats. This may be seen as pretty wanky but that's never stopped me before. I'd like to be able to compare the rate at which people are earning merits. Not the totals, but the rates, per day, per post etc compared to each other. Before anyone says oh but LoyceV or oh but DdmrDdmr have this, they are unusable, either the ui with the latter or you have to pester the former.
I'd also like a sentiment detector for all exchanges, building on your scam threads thread, an algo to find out how much each exchange is rated on here versus twitter. You'd have to run each mention against a list of positive words or negative and it may be a bit hard.
Both are great ideas, and I'll be developing both of them. 10 merits for bkbirge and 10 merits for V8s!

I would argue that fiat currencies aren't even 'just paper' at this point, they are all 0's and 1's in the unlimited intraday lending banking accounts. Can't even start a proper fire to heat that can of beans in your new home under the bridge down by the river with that. https://seekingalpha.com/article/4338036-fed-stimulus-likely-to-send-bitcoin-much-higherWhat will happen when people realize a gallon of milk costs twice as much in 2022 than it did in 2020, or that a loaf of bread costs $10 and not $5 a couple of years down the road? These are crude examples, but people all around the globe may start to realize that their fiat currencies are not as dependable as they once thought and are essentially just paper.

Hey WO guys 'n' gal(s)! Earlier today, as I was staring at my 3D printer (very therapeutic) while it was printing a cute doll as a present for my little niece, I thought of a great idea (IMHO) for storing copies of our Bitcoin seeds as a backup. When a 3D printer prints an object, there is a parameter called "infill", which controls how "solid" the object is going to be. The standard infill value is 20%, meaning that the object will be internally filled with 20% of material. Lower values save material, produce lighter objects, while still maintaining good strength by filling the inside of the object with various patterns, such as triangles, honey-comb shapes, etc. To have an idea of how the object looks internally, see the image below, showing varying infill degrees for 3D-printed parts: The idea: pick an object you like (preferably not related to Bitcoin) as a decoration to your home/office, and 3D-print it with an infill of around 10% (a very coarse inner structure). Prepare a small piece of paper with the seed (or part of the seed, or whatever you want to hide/backup), roll it and slip it inside the object as it's being printed. When the printing completes, the piece of paper or whatever you have placed inside the object will be completely sealed and there is no way to tell if there's anything inside, unless you break it or X-ray it. The beauty of 3D printing is that the final object is geometrically completely closed and there are no openings or seams on its surface. You could even split the seed in different parts and scatter them inside decorations at home/office. I think it's a cool and inconspicuous way to hide things...

Seems like a bit of a dilemma... because if too much money is given, then there could be a disincentive for people to work.... seems to cut both ways.. a good possible temporary measure.. but how would it ever stop if it disincentivizes working? Seems to show how fucked up the problem is to go from zero to $2k for everyone on a monthly basis.. and then prices will go way up because lack of people producing, servicing or delivering... and in the meantime, there seem to be efforts to defund the post office.. which is crazy... including that the post office is in the constitution... so lot's of weird times in front of us... JJG, Great minds think alike. I discussed this morning the great Missisipi Paradox.

A few thoughts about the current state of affairs (at least in US): 1. I really dislike working from home. Now I am basically attached to a computer. Before it was for fun, now a job. Hate it (but it beats unemployment). 2. Talking about unemployment, my SO got furloughed, getting about 90% of her regular paycheck (if you include additional $600/wk COVID UE). Not bad, but this level will last only 13wk, unless extended, which I doubt-too expensive. After that-TX max, which is $521/wk. 3. Because everything is closed, $$ keep accumulating in the bank account. Will it cause too many $$ chasing too few services when the economy reopens-it is quite possible. I plan to give YUGE tips if and when restaurants reopen. 4. Got $1200/adult check on Wed (as did the most, I gather), doing nothing with it so far, but will send it back to the same place because I would owe something in taxes for 2019. It's funny how it works. It comes and then it goes back to the same exact place, darn it. Still not buying or selling on the market as I am unable to read it. Maybe will do something soon, though, as some extra cash is burning hands. EDIT: Pomp opines on current situation vs UBI. https://twitter.com/APompliano/status/1250794292353929220

This is basically a "smuggled 3d printed opendime". You cannot spend the private key until the external envelope is broken. Problem. It is a viable option only for those who have a physical access to the 3d printer, as I don't want to trust anyone slipping a private key inside my object.

That's a problem, yes, but nowadays you can have a decent 3D printer for a few hundred dollars, or you can visit a friend and do your dirty thing with his printer.
