You have a lot more choices than Mississippi or the Bay Area. The United States has a seriously high cost of living compared to most other countries. I'm sitting in a hotel penthouse with an entire wall of glass and a pretty good view. Cost: $15 a night. "Undisclosed location," as the saying goes, but you may be sure this isn't America. Three weeks ago I was sitting at home in my place in the U.S. When I saw countries all around the world closing down, I knew that if I wanted to get out of the U.S. I needed to act fast. I found a country that was still issuing tourist visas and accepting American travelers. I got out just in the nick of time.
Come on man! $15 a night for a luxe hotel? Don't hold out on us. That is cheap living! It's a three star hotel. I'll give you a clue. The city is shut down completely on weekends, nobody is even allowed outside. The only businesses allowed to open at the weekend are bakeries and pharmacies. My fridge is full. Thanks for Vital clue. This narrow down the search, Earthling.... We need some kind of pic. WO folks are a visual in predilection. What else can we do during these quarantine kind of times? Fantasize about traveling.. much MOAR better than getting in touch with your inner selfie.

...Paul Drake, who runs Drakes supermarket in Adelaide, says he gave the customer the middle finger after the man tried to return approximately 5,000 rolls of toilet paper and 150 one-litre bottles of hand sanitizer earlier this month....
Supply and demand is literally what bitcoin is built on. There is nothing wrong with trying to make a buck. Yep. Paul Drake had the supply and wasn't giving back the bucks he made. But not letting people sell on Ebay makes no sense, If some people are willing to pay i higher price, then let them, their policy right now lets no one buy them and that just keeps necessary goods from entering the market, wich makes it even harder to find said goods. You seem to be detached from the reality of the price gouging attempts of what people were actually doing. E-bay likely took the right policy stance in order to attempt to lessen backlash that it might get if it were to allow people to hoard various supplies in ways that are intended to price gouge and would thereby encourage more and more of that behavior.

So I have this mental health issue where I just prefer to be socially isolated and converse anonymously online. (and usually drink alone and be a prick) Hmmmm... in these times, maybe it wasn't a mental health issue after all, but rather some weird evolutionary survival gene I inherited....
That's just standard behavior in northern Europe. That's probably why we are so much better than everybody else. And humbler.

Hello everybody, had some catching up to do. Hope everybody is ok, and my condolences to those of you who have lost friends.
Gas is so cheap right now that I'm actually driving more now then before the chinese fever, sometimes I just drive around on the country roads and enjoy the spring greenery.
I have also noticed that I did not have to make any adjustments to my lifestyle to follow the recommendations. I guess I'm more of a loner than I thought.
We still have no lockdowns and everything except high schools and other adult schools are open as usual. The only restriction is a ban on gatherings of 50 peoole or more and a strong recommendation to keep 2m apart, stay at home and only go shopping when necessary. I hope it stays that way.

I am familiar with quite a few economics principles, including supply and demand principles. So don't go lording your bullshit supposed superior knowledge, when your comment in and of itself seems to be an attempt at oversimplifying matters in such a way that just shows that you do not sufficiently understand the situation, and that you don't even seem to be trying to actually understand rather than belting out your nonsense armchair philosophies that make little to no sense. If more and more people hoard supplies, that are not being produced, they would be creating an additional middle man (themselves as profiteers), which they may be able to corner the market and/or also cause others to engage in the same kinds of profiteering/hoarding behaviors. Maybe after supply chains (production) ramp back up, they will be able to get back to normal and prices will migrate back down to normal, but in the meantime.. 1 month, 2 months or maybe even a year or more, there would be people who are incentivized to engage in hoarding and gouging behaviors... I am glad when they get fucked, like the toilet paper and hand-sanitizer hoarder in the above Adelaide example. By the way, you likely had noticed that there were a lot of stores that had to adapt their policies after-the-fact to attempt to create purchasing limits on customers in order to attempt to allow customers to be able to buy supplies and food rather than one shopper coming into stores and strategically buying up all of the supplies.. and fucking the regular customers of those stores and causing even additional panicking. Sometimes measures need to be taken to attempt to lessen some of the internal evils (or greed or desires to take advantage of a crisis of other people).

I am confident that someone is going to be able to pinpoint your location in a relatively short period of time... not that you should have provided so much detail, even though maybe it does not matter... By the way, it looks like you might be in trouble if you were to have to make a break for your life (or safety) and try to walk or run through the city in the event that you need to get out... so hopefully, your deliveries and personal services continue at an affordable price (or one that is within your budget, not that $15 a day is likely to kill the budget of too many peeps of relatively modest means).

You are so easy to wind up. Back on ignore you go. Exactly goes to show that you hardly know shit and are worthless in terms of attempting to actually provide facts and/or logic to back up what ended up being lacking in convictions and mostly shit-stirring nonsubstantiated baloney. So, yeah, you are mostly the one who should be taken as purely a presenter of pie in the sky fiction, rather than trying to actually grapple with real world circumstances.

Satoshi created both bitcoin.org and this forum, which was originally at bitcoin.org/smf. Later, the forum got its own domain name, but due to this history, bitcoin.org and bitcointalk.org have traditionally been linked, and for quite some time Cøbra and I have together managed the domain names. However, Cøbra has never had much involvement in bitcointalk.org's operation, and I haven't involved myself in bitcoin.org for a couple of years, so the linkage between the two no longer really made made any sense. Therefore, we decided to separate the domains: I no longer have any access to the bitcoin.org domain name, and Cøbra no longer has any access to the bitcointalk.org domain name. The two sites should be viewed as totally separate, which in practice they have been for years. There will be no changes whatsoever on bitcointalk.org due to this, and I'd assume that the same will be true of bitcoin.org. The bitcoin.org open-source project has been advancing steadily, and I hope and expect that it will continue to do so thanks to the efforts of its contributors. Thanks to Cøbra for handling much of bitcointalk.org's domain-name-related work in the past. theymos is the sole owner of bitcointalk.org.
