Don’t trash talk the ZX Spectrum. I have good memories of this machine. Probably a much better device than Kraken’s trading engine  Grin

That was the height of luxury, it had colour graphics!  Two of us had to share one of these in the times before we got a ZX Spectrum for Christmas one year.  Thousands of happy hours though  Grin

rebranded as the timex sinclair 1000 in the USA.

yeah and that 16k ram expansion pack.. breath at it and insta-crash.

i double sided taped my whole setup (with the sparky printer) to a block of wood to keep it more or less stable when bumping anything..

and i played the coolest flight sim ever (well kinda) on it among other stuff.

That was the machine I cut my teeth on and yeah that 16k expansion pack was a f**king mare. The amount of times you would spend tediously typing in BASIC only for it to glitch and lose everything.
Who remembers trying to back up to cassette tape and trying different volume levels on the mic before it would work (if ever).
Ah those were the days.

Bitcoin is out of date.  You need a polychromatic directed acyclic graph

pffttt, you're out of date. Polychromatic directed cyclic graphs are the new big thing. IOTA is working on it! Everytime you spend money it ends up coming back to you, just with a minor dev tax taken out.

... so back-of-envelope for the Flu-Bros ... only 13x more people needed to catch it (and 13x more people die supposedly) until "herd immunity" ... France current death toll ~30k x13 ~~ 390k total .. for example, without better therapies (which exist but are currently being denied by establishment Vaxx-bros), other interventions, etc.

1) How do you die "supposedly"? Are they sinking the bodies in the ocean with cement shoes?
2) Hm. 84k people dead in the US. Multiply by 13x and you get 1.1 million dead. We're well on the way to that number....

The Timex Sinclair was an amazing computer. I think it had 4 chips and used a CPU data line to directly drive the screen or something like that. Also made an excellent shim to hold a door open.

I should dig mine out and see if I can boot CP/M on it. Why not....

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Nice to see an orderly rise since the halving... currently $9725USD/$13733CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

It's still early but so far, it's reminding me more of the 1st halving than the 2nd.

Let's keep the daily rises and corrections coming. We don't have to go super exponential until next year. Slow and steady wins the race.

Go Bitcoin go.

How about a poll for what to replace vegeta with.

Please. Anything but an infantile kindergarten cartoon character.

No Mickey Mouse, Vegeta, or Care Bears.

At least the Sparta meme at 300 was adult-oriented.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/05/14/france-spain-say-large-scale-testing-coronavirus-shows-no-herd/

Quote
No more than five per cent of the population of France and Spain - two of the countries hardest-hit by the coronavirus - have contracted the disease, say two new studies in a major blow to hopes of “herd immunity”.

A mere 4.4 per cent of the French population - or 2.8 million people - have been infected, according to findings of the Pasteur Institue published in the journal Science .

Such figures are considerably higher than the official count of cases but way too low to effectively stop the spread of the virus through group immunity.

"Around 65 per cent of the population should be immune if we want to control the pandemic by the sole means of immunity", it said.

... so back-of-envelope for the Flu-Bros ... only 13x more people needed to catch it (and 13x more people die supposedly) until "herd immunity" ... France current death toll ~30k x13 ~~ 390k total .. for example, without better therapies (which exist but are currently being denied by establishment Vaxx-bros), other interventions, etc.

I don't know why people are surprised, we had strict lockdowns here. I didn't set foot outside my house for 8 straight weeks !

I don't know if it's just me but I'm constantly disconnecting from Kraken. Fortunately most of my orders are preprogrammed.

...when Kraken servers go prrrrrrrrrr...

I put SSDs in all my PCs when they were very expensive, nowadays if you give me a PC to repair or improve, you must fork for an SSD or I don't touch it.

Virus is running out of warm bodies to infect.

True, warm bodies have been kept distanced, away from each other, etc and the numbers are going down. More in countries that did this well, less in countries that did not do this well. "Herd" immunity works when the herd is being careful.

Now we get to see what happens when you re-add bodies to the pool.

I have a feeling I know which way this is going to go, when you tamp down a fire to coals and then pour gasoline on the coals you get a predictable response. But hey, maybe "this time it will be different"....

Let's check back in 2 months. Place your bets folks, just remember that chip you're betting with is your life.

Strikethrough no change of number last 2 days.   San Marino no-one died the last 19 days.
Some countries have a horrible health system, correct definition would be disease system.
