have a look at this article in one of the most reputable (conservative) german newspapers - the F.A.Z. (it is in german and behind a paywall, meh)

https://www.faz.net/aktuell/finanzen/alternative-digitalwaehrung-ether-besser-als-bitcoin-17149396.html

for the last decade the FAZ was had a critical stance vs bitcoin. now, after 10 years of bitcoin bashing they come up with an article claiming that ETH "is better than bitcoin."  no word about it being centralized. no word about there is no cap. no word about the fact that it is not possible to run a validating node in the ETH network. no word about the fact that its design is fucked up from scratch trying to become a "world computer" on chain. no word about the fact that it has no valid monetary policy. the FAZ has never understood bitcoin, bashing it for years and then went one to welcome this pre-mined scam without the slightest critique. they fell victim to their own moronic stupidity. it all started with the false categorizing "crypto"

either "cryptocurrency" is a valid category and only bitcoin is in it or crypto means outright scam and bitcoin does not belong in it.

You said it.

I told my SO the other day, "Ethereum didn't make any sense to me at $0.50/eth and was a scam then, so it is still a scam to me today. Its price or popularity changes nothing."

Same can be said of all the other shitcoins.

I believe the "crypto" market was created on purpose, solely to distract and drive people away from Bitcoin. If a sound asset doesn't have any real "competitors", they (whale traders) have to make them up.

Pulling all my coin off Gemini, cancelled all outstanding orders, and moving the fiat back to my financial institutions.

Got a really bad feeling about tomorrow.

Gut is telling me we're going to see a massive pump above $50k within 72 hours.

Hope I'm wrong.

I hope you’re wrong and we’ll see a peak at $80k  Grin

ETHBTC broke out today (upwards) and new ETH ATH. We are moving towards a classic alt season but not yet.

Life is good.

I wasn't referring to sports or Crapple watches. I was referring to the need for watches at all. Cellphones are pretty much de rigeur in today's world and every cellphone tells you the time, updated regularly.

The only use I see for wristwatches is for decoration and I don't wear jewelry or tattoos.

all i use my smartwatch for is for reminders (set on its calendar) and such. as being retired the only real reason i need to know the time/date anyway is for meds and MD visits lol.

and yeah phones tell the time. if you wanna dig it out of your pocket. but nothing beats smartly snapping your arm out and reading the time off your watch though. old school but satisfying anyway.

before smart watches and such, i always liked those old school LED watches (you know the ones you pressed the button and it lit the time up in red LEDs). they must still make retro models or have used ones for sale somewhere.

edit: pretty sure i messed the quotes up so took the names off. sorry

I hope not. We could see a local peak at $80k. But >$200K blowoff top in 2021 inevitable!  Cool

he is a shining example of why and how  free speech can be used to do evil.

The reality is Mining BTC with solar is viable and solar can be greatly expanded  due to the profits you get from mining BTC.

It is sad when a person spout lies under the guise of free speech.

Incentives for large solar arrays can be done and most mining can be handled that way.

Instead of banning BTC like the fool says he should be saying incentives must be done to make more solar arrays.

Yup, LED watches were neat, but the problem is they needed two batteries for the display so they were kinda big. Still, the Star Wars watch in 1977 is a classic in design and function.

I got a watch, that is separate from a phone or a tablet, solely to tell me the time in a second or two, as opposed to fiddling with a phone in my pocket if I'm out and about. It makes a minor difference. For the longest time, I resisted the idea of wearing a watch (I did wear one before when I was younger) when I got a recent phone because the phone does tell the time.

But it's a 4 inch or larger object just to tell the time.

The thing is, traditional watches are functional jewelry. Every digital watch comes off like a modern toy in comparison.
Never saw a digi watch that did fit to an elegant suit, they always look cheap somehow.
But this thing is a monster, purely for attraction (and obscurity?)
Nothing beats a classic Rolex imho, but you need big hands as well to make em look really good.

Agreed. Pocket watches are always the best, but if you need an amazing wristwatch I would recommend a Hamilton 505 Ventura or even the Pacer. Futuristic in 1961, futuristic in 2021 (holy crap, it's been 60 years)

This

You read this article about Grayscale today? It was linked two or three pages back. (Spoiler: look out for the 2nd of Feb and the days after.)
Hope you're wrong because of DCA-dipping no more possible at around $36k?

EDIT: Here it is, for your convenience. Very bullish read, that is.

WRT personal technology, the masses' rationality makes zero sense.

Spending $1000 on a laptop, just to: have the occasional chat, play a game, check the time, and check the weather.
Masses: What a huge waste of your money!

Spending $1000 on a smartphone, just to: have the occasional chat, play a game, check the time, and check the weather.
Masses: This is the way! Great use of your money!

So...whenever Bitcoin goes from a long, multi-year bear market to start of a new bull run, the MSM pounces to immediately say Bitcoin "is in a bubble".

Every. Single. Time.

Any long time OG Bitcoiners notice the pattern?

I guess the only two binary states that Bitcoin can be in is either "dead" or "bubble". Nothing in between.
