There has already been intense traffic over the Bosporus in the past few days. I mean warships, mostly Russian. IOW: Who needed to pass has already done so. Erdogan is closing the door a bit late. Why such a late move? Because the economy has been nosediving for a while, and Russia is one of Turkey's most important commercial partners. Now the sanctions show how serious most of the world is about this, so Recep does what he should have done the day before yesterday.
Even if they did it earlier, incoming Russian warships would have been allowed, and will still be allowed, so this makes no difference.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VA-111_ShkvalThe VA-111 Shkval (from Russian: шквaл, squall) torpedo and its descendants are supercavitating torpedos ..... They are capable of speeds in excess of 200 knots (370 km/h or 230 miles/h).
... Some reports indicate that the VA-111 possibly exceeds speeds of 250 kn (460 km/h; 290 mph), and that work on a 300 kn (560 km/h; 350 mph) version was underway.
...
All current versions are believed to be fitted only with conventional explosive warheads, although the original design used a nuclear warhead.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-500_missile_systemThe S-500 Prometey (Russian: C-500 Пpoмeтeй, lit. 'Prometheus'), also known as 55R6M "Triumfator-M",[2] is a Russian surface-to-air missile/anti-ballistic missile system intended to replace the A-135 missile system currently in use, and supplement the S-400 ... [3][4] With its characteristics, according to Pravda Report, it is unrivaled by any other similar system in the world, being the first in a new class of space-defense weapons. ...
The S-500 is designed for intercepting and destroying intercontinental ballistic missiles, as well as hypersonic cruise missiles and aircraft, for air defense against Airborne Early Warning and Control and for jamming aircraft.[citation needed] With a planned range of 600 km (370 mi) for anti-ballistic missile (ABM) and 500 km (310 mi) for air defense,[22] the S-500 would be able to detect and simultaneously engage up to 10 ballistic hypersonic targets flying at a speed of 5 kilometres per second (3.1 mi/s; 18,000 km/h; 11,000 mph)[23][24] to a limit of 7 km/s (4.3 mi/s; 25,000 km/h; 16,000 mph).[25][26] It also aims at destroying hypersonic cruise missiles and other aerial targets at speeds of higher than Mach 5, as well as spacecraft.[citation needed] The altitude of a target engaged can be as high as 180–200 km (110–120 mi).[citation needed] It is effective against ballistic missiles with a launch range of 3,500 km (2,200 mi), the radar reaches a radius of 3,000 km (1,300 km for the EPR 0,1 square meter).

Russia will never have a united people with Ukraine now. Instead they will have a permanent enemy. Ukraine has not forgotten (not close) their Holomodor, their disaster inflicted on them by Stalin. And now Putin comes in and kills hundreds (or thousands) so far, destroys much of the Ukraine, and has the nerve to call Ukraine "Nazis" (with a Jewish president). If Russia "wins", they will find a mad hornet's nest that will never go away once the Ukrainians learn to make IEDs. If Russia loses, I doubt they'll offer apologies or restitution. Russia will be a big loser there in the Ukraine. Perhaps some Russian general will put a 9mm into Putin's forehead and end this horror...

Ships returning to a home port are allowed through. Crimea etc. is Russia, right? So they get the green light. IMO, this move by Erdogan is just a show anyway.

56:30-1:02:00 ...but I think that he is exaggerating it, or least I hope. I am a baby of the relatively stable MAD era, can't really think of the alternatives.
Welp, the guy sounds like a moron to me. It literally doesn't matter how fast the ballistic missiles are and saying we would have no response if Russia attacked is pure bullshit. The guy is fearmongering with lies. I'm sure the gaslit folks will buy it hook line and sinker but anyone else should know its a load of crap.

Not just Crimea, there is actual Russian coast and ports on the Black Sea in case Turkey doesn't want to recognize Crimea as part of Russia, so yeah.

I wonder if you've ever considered where Russia might be thinking of for a potential Poseidon deployment? ... not any land-locked countries, most likely an Island nation? or continental coastline? with a major CBD center, and on an estuary ... like London? or Amsterdam? or New York? or the Potomac? ... not that I would want any of that to happen but you've got to think practically about these things if you go to war, "cross red lines", steal people's money, blockade their trade, etc, etc ... what are your opponents capabilities, strengths, weaknesses, etc? ... not fearmongering but screaming "lies, lies, lies" in panicked denial is a sure recipe to get blind-sided by a superior military power ... why do you think NATO(USA) has been pushing so hard to get it's missiles so close to Russia, like in Ukraine literally on Russia's border? ... maybe because Russia has developed capability to bring down any missiles launched from further out, rendering most of ICBM fleet useless?

Dunno man, besides the part that they wanted more then they actually envisioned is probably a bonus they wanted. The fact that they have sent mostly old or outdated equipment and young inexperienced soldiers mostly. The weird rockets shot all over Ukraine and that hit all over the country and mostly the WHO Bio Labs & other Western Countries Bio Labs. It is almost like they have sent the invasion just to not have to justify the targets of the rockets. Something more is going on here.

The world was so simple 2 months ago when Russia asked NATO to guarantee and sign agreement that they will not expand further to the East. They explained again and again that placing rockets in Ukraine and Georgia is a red line for Russia. Senile Biden said in an interview that he doesn't care about Russian red lines. The result is what it is. Now they do care but it is too late.
Russia has the right to defend itself!
