Bitcoin was supposed to be a medium of exchange that would skip all the middle man like banks. But right now people are using it more like an investment. We are getting away from satoshi's vision or bitcoin emerged to claim a different destiny. Sometimes I think about where I invest my money. In assets or in a currency! The world seems strange and changing. We try to achieve something but destiny leads us to another path.

I can't wait till someone finally slaps this "man" (and I use that term VERY loosely) in the face, be it literally or figuratively. It's coming, it's just a matter of when

My experience is very different. Every single person I know who got involved in altcoins ended up with less Bitcoin than they could have had if the had bought Bitcoin (and only Bitcoin) straight away.

My advice is to steer well clear of altcoins, buy Bitcoin and HoDL.

I can only second this.
About 10% of my BTC were lost in the alts-game, back when we were sub 20k.
If someone needs the thrill, ok, but i don't need it.

I gave up watching MSM a long time ago. For I prefer to eat what I want, not what I am given.

I wouldn't ask you to "justify" your position without making a DYOR for yourself!

Maybe it's clear that he's one of those that have narrowly escaped the dangers with alts but why should you prefer going and doing it through the hard way very risky, bitcoin is safe and can still give thesame or more than you've gotten in the past only if you've learn how to hold as been said for another circle of all time high only with bitcoin, it should be your first and best alternative for an investment.

I have had similar experiences.  


This is my way of understanding and handling it:

- These guys just wanna make easy money.  They don't care about anything else.

- If they are good friends, I tell them about the risks involved (usually they don't have a clue)

- I explain why I like BTC and why I don't want anything else (often, that's the only time they are interested enough to listen).

- I let them do their thing.  They'll do it anyways..   If they wanna play the casino, let them.



I experienced the following:

In the end, almost all of them fucked it up with shitcoins, and they recognize that BTC would have been the smarter choice for them..

However, when they are in fomo you cannot talk them out of it.  Actually I'm 90% sure they just call you to have someone to blame, if when their play goes wrong.  Make sure not to endorse anything.  Just talk about what you did and why..



sidenote:

if this doggy pump had fundamentals, I think BTC would pump as well.  Mr Mask is also invested in BTC and lightening would be suited better for Twitter than doggydidogg.  
So at this point it's just the typical shitcoin-hype news event.
