It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

A lot of people have been yelling for them to stop raising rates for a while now. With inflation where it has been, prices are rising everywhere expect compensation. Salaries have called way behind the cost of living increases and the only thing in my opinion keeping us from a 2008 style crash is that asset prices are being held up by rampant inflation.

All true, but didn't they raise in order to stop rising inflation.
At least theoretically, this is how it 'should" work.
Re inflation stopping crash-you have a good point there.

I was wondering myself why RE is not crashing despite an obvious overvaluation in light of the 50% (or more) housing cost increase PLUS the mortgage interest rate increase from roughly 3% to 6-7%? Suddenly, people are able to afford 2-2.5X increase in mortgage cost? How?

One explanation is the loss of supply caused by the reluctance of sellers with low % mortgage to sell and another, maybe in anticipation of higher than before inflation. Although, there are signs of a slow down; some houses around here are on the market for 6 mo already.

skyrmion? spintronic reserves? neuromorphic computing?
I simply don't know enough physics to follow.

Is it basically a low power neural net?

THANK YOU!!!
I read it twice and couldn't find enough words that I knew, consecutively, to generalize context!

Afterwards, I was kind of second guessing myself. I have been in technical fields for almost 30 years... I generally understand, even quite complex STEM concepts without too much difficulty. But I quit drinking a little over a month ago,  and was starting to wonder... was I too late? Was it Dunning-Kruger all along? WTF? Am I the only one???

But you rescued me from my thoughts, so here! Take half my smerits!!!

(Wish I wasn't too lazy to find/post memes. "Shutup and Take My Money!" would be fitting.)

Alcohol is a fucking bitch, it's hitting you worse every year you get older.
Congrats for quitting, it's the very first step, and if you remember to not forget that it's useless and neurotoxic, you will stay away.
I, for myself, got fed up feeling control loss with advancing age when i was drunk. That was the experience which made me keep my hands off it, while i do drink a few times a year, but i handle it very differently than before.
My father died after multiple organs failed. Reason: Painkillers and alcohol.
My mother is on the edge of dementia in her early 70s, started her fifth withdrawal last week (benzos, Z's and alcohol) and that is keeping me busy at the time.
No details this time, it's exhausting to even think about the current situation.
I can only urge to try keeping your hands off it. forever.

Any addiction can be harmful. My bro-in-law has full blown dementia. He is basically a carb junkie.

Plain Cheerios
White bread- with nothing
White pasta- with nothing
drakes cake
some water
a multi vitamin
a calcium tablet.
under 10 pounds of chicken drum sticks per year.

that was his 90% + his diet since 2002.

He wiped his short-term memory out doing this diet.

No drugs
No alcohol
No smokes.

A real lot of simple carbs.

BTW I hope you are able to cope well with your mom as I struggle helping my bro-in-law it is hard.
