OT: I am off to the DataCenter where some of my servers are living, gotta replace some ageing SSD and SAS Drives.... Last time i was here, i made the decision it is time to call it a day!.. The stress and anxiety was not worth it anymore... or is it?...

Anyhow, wish me luck, hopefully it will be a more pleasant experience.... or maybe I'll have some fun and just unplug a some servers that belongs to Google...  Wink

Speaking of aging SSD's. That's the task of the weekend. goblin-no.de need a new ssd.

Speaking of aging SSD's. That's the task of the weekend. goblin-no.de need a new ssd.

Just come across an issue with my LN Node... Can not upgrade bitcoin core to the latest... Binary will not run on CentOS Stream release 8... need to compile from source!.. Bloody annoying!

I am thinking of splitting the box... One for lnd (2x2TB SSD Enterprise) and another for bitcoind (Single SSD Drive - maybe 2TB or 3TB)(current growth, the drive should fail first)

I've taken the route of trying to make the Node somewhat profitable... got the inspiration from you!.. your 680,000Sat monthly profit was amazing! Although i haven't opted for onchain opening and closing to balance channels, everything has all been done via lightning...

Started working on some new tools to automate the channel management... (I needed a better overview of what is happening with the routing, in real time and change channel fees and monitor and compare that impact of fee changes over the last few weeks and move up or down if needed, try to find the sweet spot and maximize the channel)

I also lost some fairly large channels recently.... over 1.2BTC closed from LNBig (Not that there was much traffic from them)... LNNode dropped down to 10.5BTC... Not sure if i want to throw anymore SATS at it just yet...

How's goblin-no.de tracking?

I am genuinely curious as to why some people hate bitcoin so much.
....

I don't think its so much they hate it, its just that most normies see it as a weird asset
that is way too volatile, associated with massive scammery and the plethora of shitcoin nonsense (sorry bros ....spoiler alert, it is )
and also they are completely financially uneducated on it.
I mean what faithful bank customer is gonna store their life's savings on a piece of paper (or some gadget that apparently can get stolen and hacked if you don't bury it in the Sahara desert somewhere)
with a million random characters on it. With the caveat that if you lose/forget those numbers, words or whatever, you can't just call up customer service and say "um, I forgot my password ..."
I myself, with years of experience, get paranoid when ever I'm doing a transaction that I'll fuck something up.

in Summary, many people are not ready for self custody (why some still use CEX)
They are too used to the help of a custodial.

It's a very good Setup , That pattern speaks volumes and I think it's very accurate for the current market Situation.

Would a Week be a good time to Wait for the bull Run?

There are only so many swear words that could meaningfully fill that space but I would be assuming that LFC_Bitcoin meant for the asterisks to represent something unspeakable in polite circles.  Maybe he just meant it as a fill-in-the-blank game to help us pass the time on our moonward journey.
