Not sure if this is off-topic here, but any thoughts on if the elections this week in the US are having any affects on the pumped up value of USD, the crazy low prices of gasoline (which always seem to precede an election for some reason) and perhaps the lower gold values which in turn could be affecting the Bitcoin price? Perhaps when Tuesday is over we will see some things shift? It will be interesting to watch.

Not to worry! Bitcoin could be super shit and it's still better than having to deal with the banking industry.

Yo, the guy who reads the tea leaves for CCN, Venzen Khaosan, apparently lost his s--- in his last posting. He went from everything is rosy or this is just a slight downturn with a name tag that said he is invested via Bitfinex and BTC-e to calling the two exchanges centralized bucket shops. The world really is coming to an end, ain't it?
yes the accusation is premature because anyone can manipulate this bitcoin thing. just that 2 exchange make thing easier. i remember when bitcoin hit 104 on btce and other incident involving bitfinex EDIT : btw do we suddenly rise 10 usd to 332 EDIT2 : interesting news from money 2020

Most likely another pump and dump before we go down even lower. Like the last 20 times.

(clue if hashrate increase before price jump...) That article is very lulzy, and if his previous analysis was "everything is rosy" as you say, I suspect he is just trying to save face for previous bad calls. "It wasn't that I suck/am overinvested/am talking my book that made me make bad calls, it was that my calls should have been right, but fucking manipulation!" EDIT: I wonder if this could get him sued for libel. Any lawyer types want to weigh in?

10 dollars up seems to be the limit where the dumpers start doing their thing.

He tends to be right about entry and exit points, but wrong about general market direction. If he is calling the whole thing a bucket shop I am using that as a marker that things are about to get better.

People are taking a breather. Clearly the Lawsky talk at least wasn't bad news. People are taking a bit of profit from 320 to 330/335 and reassessing. Can't blame them. Those who've tried to hold throughout a rally do get dumped on. So, it's sort of a trained behavior at this point. We forgot how it feels to just ride a position for a while.
