Noobish question on bitfinex, when you perform a swap is the transaction performed automatically or does a btc swap give you coins to trade on the market?
When an order placed ' at margin' is executed, swaps are obtained from the available ones (if you don't reserve them first).

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

When an order placed ' at margin' is executed, swaps are obtained from the available ones (if you don't reserve them first). Now I'm more confused than when I asked I'll read up on the terms though, thanks LOL, sorry probably my fault. Think of the swaps as an additional market, with its own book. When you receive a 'swap', you are effectively borrowing USD or BTC from somebody else, and using them immediately (to buy BTC in case of USD swaps, to sell BTC in case of BTC swaps).

you thinks wrong Yes. What people overlook is that a price fall from $400 to $200 requires as much doom, gloom, hate, FUD, despair, bear-mania, as the entire fall from $800 to $400. Unless there is a breakdown of the Bitcoin protocol, it becomes exponentially harder for the price to collapse downward. There is a floor, and maybe $275 was it, and $333 the lowest retrace.

Good bids @Bitfinex = ppl want to close shorts ASAP ? Total sum of active swaps 11,784.20 BTC ehh, that´s not so good, it means that all buys(or a lot of them) in fact were actually shorts that have been closed... We had about 18000+ before So, some impatient traders closed their shorts on Bitfinex via rapid market buys rather than slow fishing? I am really mad at them because they triggered my stop order just a few minutes before I could move the stop price lower as I planned. And now I need to figure out my next move instead of simply waiting for a dump party or to get "stopped" by a real rally. I think it could have been better for all of us if this didn't happen the way it did.

Wall at 350 keeps getting bigger. The traders will do everything they can to make sure we won't go up. As if their life depends on it.
Just STFU already.

I am telling you sub $330 BTC will never happen again. If it does I will never post in this thread again. Huge pumps are incoming in the next few mins / hours.
Well well well, seems like you can still post on this thread. I had to edit this reply before sending because I had some text waiting for days with waving you goodbye and wishing you all the best hehehehehe Surely, it was a close one. We are NOT out of the woods, yet, but at least there is a little bit of a reprieve going on.
