Hi guys. Just wanted to know whether drinking is good or bad for our health...first of all i drink every weekend because i feel refreshed after a heavy week of work..  After i drink i take a lot of food and have a nice sleep....I do not have any kind of headache or anything after drinking but will it affect me in the future.... My dad almost drinks everyday right from his childhood may b at the age of 18 but my dad is healthy and strong even after drinking so many years... Thanks to god for that....... Any way,  When it comes to your health, is it better to drink or not to drink?

People often drink to enjoy, relieve stress and socialize. Some say that drinking alcohol in moderation is somehow good for our system. But I don't really get the point. I don't see any other benefits of drinking alcohol. It ruins your health and liver. You might enjoy drinking for now but it will get it's payback when you grow older. So, better not drink, or if so, just drink in moderation.

Alcohol in any amount is harmful. It kills your brain. And because of poisoning, we feel the ease and haziness of the mind. Intoxication is a sign that your body is harmed by alcohol.
I have not been drinking alcohol for a long time and I do not want to do it

Based on what you've said, maybe drinking will not result in too much harm to your health in moderation but eating a lot as you said after drinking and going to bed i think is very bad.  Because when we sleep our body is in steady position. We dont work and we dont consume much energy as in the day. Our pancreas has to work double on the food we eat while sleeping because our body doesnt work. Most of the cases i've read, our pancreas gets damage that results to death while the person is sleeping. Their pancreas had errupted.

Before I used alcoholic beverages. But now, growing up, I understood that it is possible perfectly to live and without an alcohol. As well as without cigarettes. Save the health.

It is possible to live without alcoholic beverages, but there is no need to do so. Why should you completely avoid alcohol, when it is proven that in moderate amounts alcohol does more good than harm?
It is possible, i'm 23 and yet didn't drink an alcohol even 1bottle. I only tasted it a little and I don't really like the taste of alcohol maybe because our family is a non-drinker. Even studies proven that moderate consumption may live longer compare to non-drinker. I'll still choose not to.

Forget about the studies. Even the researchers are biased sometimes. They will only publish the results which are in line with their views and they will hide anything else which are not compatible with their thinking.

I totally agree to this. Having Good health is really for the best . But sometimes you should also feel and chill. Feeling Drunk is Good but being drunk and running wild is not Good. Set limits and dont drink daily it will cause harm to body.

With alcohol abuse, you are not physically dependent, but you still have a serious problem. The drinking may cause problems at home, work, or school. It may cause you to put yourself in dangerous situations, or lead to legal or social problems.

The impact of drinking alcohol is depend  upon the drinker.there  are people treat alcohol beverages  like water which may cause destruction of liver. Other people drinks alcohol beverages  for refreshment only. but for young people esp. students it have negative impact,that they will think drinking alcohol beverages is cool.

Researchers proves that moderate drinking of alcohol can help to avoid having a diseases like diabetes and it can reduce the risk of gallstone. But if the amount of alcohol that we intake exceeds it can cause anxiety, high blood pressure and tremors. Nowadays, some people are put in danger because of having a fight due to intoxication. So I choose not to drink alcohol because of the effects that it can give to our body.

but it will be a whole different story if you are drinking as if you're life depends on it...
you are not only destroying you're own health but also youre relationship with youre family...
ive seen a lot of family that has been destroyed due to alcohol...

Many people nowadays are using drinking alcohol as their leisure. Doctors proved that drinking of too much alcohol can lead us suffer different kinds of diseases like high blood pressure and anxiety. Similarly, according to some researcher,  3000 lives are being loss everyday because of alcohol. So we should only drink moderate alcohol at least twice a week because alcohol also gives some health benefits like preventing of diabetes.

For me there are positive and negative effects of drinking alcohol, but it depends on the action of the drinker and the effect of drinking to him. Some people usually drink for their pleasure and they get too high and too drunk, that's the bad thing, when they wake up they (some) can't even remember what wreckage they have committed. Also in general alcohol when too much greatly affects our mind and our body. We can get too obsess and end up lying in the hospital. The good thing about alcohol, when drink moderately (at some occasion), it helps are health and mind. In health we can avoid some diseases and lessen some chance of having diseases. In mind it helps are mind to be at ease, my father when stress he drunk 2-3 bottles so that he can sleep tight and wake up tomorrow feeling refreshed. But the effect is general base on the person, some effects of alcohol is the hidden trait of the person is shown, meaning you can really know the person once he/she is drunk.

Drinking a peg every day is OK. Else, you can have 3-4 glasses every Friday or Saturday. There is nothing wrong, if you are able to limit yourself. The problem starts when you are unable to stop drinking.

It is best not to drink. Alcohol can paralyze our nerves, but also hurt our liver, increase the burden on the heart, let us aging, we should stay away from alcohol.
False, it depends on how much you drink, even it can be healthy if you know how.

Short term affects:
A small amount of alcohol will make you relaxed and make you feel less anxious but large amounts suppresses the part of the brain which controls judgement, resulting in loss of inhibitions.
Affects physical co-ordination, causing blurred vision, slurred speech and loss of balance.

Long term affects:
Drinking too much alcohol will cause physical damage, increase risks of diseases and can make other diseases worse.
