With Amd's ryzen release notes yesterday
Amd is about to make the market completely competitive
So I'm going to see where it goes before I put more into intel boards and CPU
Intel might drop prices on everything to try and compete with what amd just did

Yeah, there's some decently price B350 motherboards with 6 pci slots. Link: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Prime-B350-Plus-Ryzen-Motherboard/dp/B06X416NJ1/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&qid=1487876338&sr=8-19&keywords=am4+motherboard

Definitely easier to resell these than H81 btcs. Depending on the power efficiency, the 1700 cpu may be able to mine XMR pretty well too. (I guess 500h/s)

Umm that board has 4 PCIe slots and two PCI slots, so it can only do 4 GPU's.

okay maybe maybe not   needs testing .

the biostar z170  does 4 cards well none has them doing 5 and 6 cards well
the Aorus  z270 from gigabyte does 5 cards well on windows 10  as tested by me

the ryzen board looks nice maybe it will do 6 cards and the cpu will do a solid 500 on xmr.  so it is like a 7 card rig Maybe

The cpus from amd seem costly to me  lowest cost I see is 329

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113428&cm_re=amd_ryzen-_-19-113-428-_-Product

amd only released the first wave of cpus that complete with intel on gaming and multitasking level
1700 is faster than a 6800k at 329$ 100$ less if i remember right the 1700 is 8 cores 16 threads which amd never has done before till now cuz intel finally sold them a lease for it
it also has at tdp of 65W vs 140W
these are mostly for gaming and stuff like that
6900k is $1k cpu and the 399$ 1700x beat it at cinebench
Ryzen 3 is also coming soon and that should be at around 150$ if I am correct, even that will be overclockable. It won't be out for a while though and we still have no hard confirmation of the details. If anything the current Ryzen benchmarks are looking good. Dunno what they'll compare it to but it should be pretty decent.

Not  anti and,but here is some advice for them.

Develop a CPU coin.  Basically if the 399 AMD CPU is equal to the 999 INTEL CPU

A CPU coin with value would make lots of sales for AMD.

I always say propping up a new coin price is lower cost then hiring actors from Big Bang theory to do a commercial .

Right now I can not do a high end AMD build.

Will do the gigabyte z270 and let you know how it goes.

For what new cards you to want to change them ? (Next Gen ?)

I have some free space on my second rig (only 2 cards, could run 4 or 5)... I could buy a few from you.

I will think about it (if they are not sold by the time i made my mind !)

let me know.

Hot weather is coming  and my in house power bill will jump big time.

My goal is to run the panda miner at the solar array  and of the 9 four card boards that I have setup  run :

2 msi rx 480 8gbs  on 3 rigs
2 msi rx 470 8gbs on 1 rig

that is 8 gpus. on 4 rigs   i Will have perfect heat setup with 2 cards a rig

leaving me 5 empty rigs   to slowly add rx 500 series cards when I get a sale .  I could add 10 cards

I would have 18 cards on 9 rigs and the panda miner.

Hey guys... are any of you using or looked into the Baikal Mini miner?  With the recent skyrocketing of Dash price, seems like a good investment to get a few of these as the ROI period at current rates is less than 3 months.  Any ideas about this or first hand experiences in regard to reliability of these units?  Also, have you ordered directly from Baikal?  They seem to have the lowest price at $300 but not sure about shipping.

I got crushed with grid seeds and ltc a few years ago.

But I would get one if it came in a day or two.

Grid seeds kept on coming and coming price on it dropped and ltc price dropped..

The danger with an alt coin ASIC is the builder of it can flood the market.  Which will drop coin prices.

Think what would happen if bitmain sold s9 at desending price.  Say 1500 for two weeks then 1400 for two weeks then 1300 for two weeks then 1200 for two weeks then 1100 for two weeks. Then 1000 for two weeks then 900 800 700 600 and finally at 500.

They won't as they do not have to.  But this company may do exactly that since the market is small.

That said if I got one from a trusted seller I would fuck with it.

One of the guys in my group is a big DASH supporter. And he has invested in several models of Baikal miners. I have 2 racks of his ASICs in my warehouse which I help him host the gear. Singles 150Mhs. Quads 600Mhs. Giant 900MHs (this miner is a champ and only eats only 200watts - you can attached 5 of these with one 1300 PSU).

Total hashpower 25GHs currently pulling about 300$-400$ per day. There was a period where daily-takings is double if you sell the hash to NH because some jokers paid premium to eat-up the entire X11 hash supply in US and Europe. I smell a P&P.

However, without going into P&P speculations, as long as we get paid more per submitted hash over normal PPS -- no worries. His entire 25Ghs worth of gear takes about 8 months ROI according to him -- he is about just over halfway to ROI minus expenses etc. He said he is lucky to have bought them at the right time because of the massive surge of DASH and X11 coins (Baikal's X11 miners can also do multi algo and auto-swicth, X13, X14, X15, Quark and Qubit algos).

Note: I asked him about what if X11 is no longer profitable and he is stuck with the ASICs... his reply, convert it into a large global node for DASH and collect tx fees. I kind of agree with him because DASH is one of the 3 grand daddies of crypto (BTC, DASH and LTC)... and it survived just like BTC. Like Phil's says.... BTC needs the other stronger coins in the crypto super highway.
