The current AMD cards that can do 440-470 plus sols/s are R9 Nano, Fury X, Fury X+

The key thing about these range of cards is HBM memory.

If Vega/RX5XX cards do come with HBM then we may have AMD cards that tops 1080s or 1070s, at least for ZEC mining.

Do note that pricing wise, R9 Nanos, Fury X etc... although expensive still -- it is cheaper than 1080s or 1070s

However, as per discussed when Vega comes out, NVIDIA will push out the 1080ti to overtake AMD again...

I believe that the 1080ti is out already if I am not mistaken.

Other than Coinbase what other reputable site will convert BTC to USD for you?  I feel I need to diversify a little.

Not sure and I need a USA based site.  I would like to feel safe  coinbase is insured  and I have 3 to 10 coins in it.

Any usa site with real Insurance?

Is coinbase insured?

Would you please look if you get a chance?
I want to buy a few of these I just want to make sure it doesn't have Elpida ram so I can use the 29MH LowEnergy rom on it.
TIA

Two different brand of the same RX (rx480 8gb here) could use the same Bios mod as long as memory brand is the same Huh

Yes, as long as they are both "reference" cards (boxed in, one fan design).

kinda off topic for a second
has anyone lended btc at poloneix?
if you havent they are paying a dumb amount of interest rates lately

Have you tried ?
I might test this feature to see how it works.
What are the usual rates ? and what are the the very high rates you saw recently ?

For a few weeks now it's been .18 to .3 interest rates per day
Which in investment terms means big dollars

I have about 23MH/s stock bios with memclock about 1900.

26-27 MH/s are good numbers for rx470 , I'm happy when my sapphire reference rx470 (blower style) achieve a strong stable 27mh/s (the best is generally -100mv and 1900 to 1920 memclock)

I have little experience with MSI , just got them. And 23MH/s for now.
So yes I would be glad to try your rom if you are happy with it !

The rates are high at polo because of the upcoming BTU fork. Polo has stated that in a case of a fork, lent BTCs wouldn't get their equivalent in BTU. In other words the rates are high because you are taking additional risks by lending right now.

Interesting discussions as always here  Grin  Personally, I'm not sure i would invest in an Nvidia monster rig, mainly because it seems like you would be paying a premium AND limiting yourself since ZEC seems to be the only coin that is mined better on Nvidia (if I'm not mistaken).  Plus, it always seems like when new coins come out, the first miners (at least ones made by Claymore) are usually for Radeon cards.

Anyway, certainly there are a few very interesting things going on now in the crypto world. This BTC hard-fork thing was just killing the price last few days but nice to see it make at least a little comeback today... at $974 at present.  Plus, really good to see ETH get back over $50 yesterday and hold it today so far. But... the biggest surprise to me the last few days and especially today is DCR!!! I was thinking the $5-$6 range was a very nice bonus on a coin that was just an afterthought secondary coin to mine alongside ETH... but now it shoots up to $12.85? (and was over $14 at one point earlier today). The ETH explosion, while still amazing and definitely not expected to this degree, at least has some obvious basis behind the spike (BTC issues, STORJ moving from BTC network to ETH network, etc).  Granted, a lot of other alts have come along for the ride, albeit to a lesser extent than ETH... but to think that when i started mining back around Oct'16, I did an ROI on dual mining DCR and it wasn't even worth the extra electricity (around $1 back then i think), it's frankly amazing that it is now even higher than the $10-$12 that ETH was hovering at for 4-5 months. I only wish I would have mined DCR at break-even for those 3-4 months but I wont complain since I've now got $400 worth of it after dual mining it only about a month.

Back to the building new rigs issue... this boom is making it very hard for me not to look seriously at building another 6-MSI 470 rig. I know there is no way of knowing how long it will last but it almost feels like wasting money NOT to build another one lol. I went ahead and ordered a couple of Mobos on Friday just in case. Couldn't find any more ASRock BTC Pro R2's though so ended up getting 2 Biostar TB85's as they seem to be a close equivalent and and well proven to work good with 6 GPUs.  Need to start looking at the other components again but looks like I can at least get 4 of the 6 MSI 470's needed from Jet for a total of about $630, so that's a decent start at least. Will probably re-asses in the next few days after seeing what prices do over that time period.

I need to prep for the move to the solar array.

I just can't mine a lot in house from May to October

Rates jump from 12.7 to 16.7

When you adjust heat in the winter discount my cost is 9-10 cents

When you adjust cooling the summer added cost gets me up to 19 cents.

This summer maybe 1 rig three cards the rest at the solar array.

I hate this time of the year as I have to wind down. From 22 amps to 3 amps or less.

july 1 my rates go up
they havent said to what number yet
im sure its going to be .15 or more

this BTU and Segwit forking is making wonder
what would be the best way to go about this...
i see both sides the pro and cons
but i still havent seen the light at the end on either
so should i sell all btc for fiat or hold and hope for the best

I got lucky & unlucky with DCR. When BTC broke 1k, I bought DCR instead of mining.

DCR is a Bitcoin fork - as I understand it. It was launched to compete with BTC.

Their founders are ex Bitcoin developers. Typically not many DCR in circulation.

I have been monitoring the pattern and trends of DCR -- it goes up when BTC goes up.

So I will hold DCR as soon as I reach my target price (+18% and above).

When it broke 5$ got good returns and sold everything (as I type $13.37!! ~ nose bleed  Huh)
and bought ETH at that time 39$... the saga continues.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

i'm already loaded with AMD's..maybe its diversifying with cards, nvidia is better at some algos compared to AMD.

i'm also looking at powerful gpus (bigger hash), my mining room is getting filled, imagine a 2x 300 sols card vs 1x 600 sols card, you save half the space and...imagine if i can only fit 8 cards more, thats 600 sols x8 instead of 300 sols x8.

thinking about getting fury, fury X, 1080 ti, 1070 , 1080...or wait for vega (HBM2).

you know what...my biggest earner in the last few months is not my GPUs, it's my socket 775 intel quad core CPUs LOL!, mining pascalcoin, the first GPU miner that came out was nvidia, second is AMD.

or.....i'm expanding in the attic, i'm having plans in my head lately  Grin

In texas where I live we have deregulation of electric companies.  I just signed up for a 2 year contract renewal at .068 cents a kwh.  You all cant do that to stabilize cost?  www.powertochoose.com is a great site.

NJ  does not approach those numbers.  The array deal with forum member buysolar  does work for me.

Now with smOS and srr  the gpu gear should work out.
