[ Re the spread price drop, that could also be because of the overall drop in cryptocoin price, as everything still follows BTC, and BTC got hit hard with China's ICO ban.
I think the price drop started well before the China news hit. Someone either knew a delay was coming or even knew the project will never finish. There seems to be a few factors, Helium is almost certainly the prime mover in Spread pricing ATM, but Spread also has had something of a mining boom in the past month too, and when miners come in generally the price benefits as well (heavy mining usually causes a price rise because miners are then active on that coins markets). I think the Helium anticipation and the mining hype were a two-pronged pump, and with the ICO/Exchange bans causing the FUD of the month, PLUS the delay/lack of communication out of this project caused some spread-helium speculators to loosen their grip. Helium as an overall project concept is still quite solid and novel, it's for that reason I'm interested in it. Novel uses with real world applications are what will drive long-term viability, however, the teams behind those ideas need to be able to deliver on them. In the early days of this pre-notice I saw more upfront and timely communication than I have in the past two months supposedly shortly before their first major go-live, which is more than a little troubling. I bought my spread in the VERY early days of this pre-ann so it could dump quite a bit more before I'd be at a loss, but it's still sad to see the stagnation.

Maybe this delaying, radio silence (on this thread anyway, I would assume all the slack stuff gets relayed here quite promptly) is all part of the big plan. You know, build up the suspense (and price), aligning the ducks, etc . And thats not to say thats a bad thing.I still have total faith in this project. Patience is a virtue, especially in this space. Slow and steady wins the race.... (oh wow! that rhymes... how quaint!)

I think this project is one of the long-term projects that convinces me because I see dev and the developer of the salang project helps also enthusiasts to this project is also quite a lot

The helium plan is very good, and I always hope to see development teams work intelligently, I'm just cynical from how many projects I've seen NOT pan out. I'm still waiting patiently with my spread in my wallet.

Hey @everyone we are targeting Spreadcoin block 1,644,100 as the snapshot date. This is subject to exchange confirmation, so it is subject to change. As you can tell, we could do with a bit more time to get confirmations from third parties, but we understand the frustrations some people have to just wanting to get on.
The snapshot process itself will happen a day or two after this block height to give the blockchain time to settle and blocks to confirm.
The launch date will follow soon after, but we haven't finalised a date for that yet. We will start mining for around 4 days which gives us time to generate the pre-mine coins we will need based on the snapshot data. We'll do some reconciliations with the exchange.
During the mining process, we'll be earning rewards, which we'll probably burn.
We won't be giving out dates on the actual launch until:
1. We have a pool up and running (we have a pool operator launching with us) 2. The wallets are compiled and ready 3. Github is up with the latest source 4. The budget proposals website is up (it is actually up just needs to run off Heliumd) 5. We have the green light from the exchange that we've agreed on the reconciliation of accounts)
Once the exchange is 100% happy, we'll give more details.
If anyone has technical skills and wants to run the snapshot script as a test, please feel free.

Thanks for the info!! I read this as snapshot in < 10 days, assuming a block a minute, which right now appears to be a low estimate. Correct? Should we be holding out coins in our wallet, or at an exchange? Since you didn't mention an exchange, I'm assuming the former. We are hopeful to finalize plans with the exchange we have been in negotiations with very soon. The moment we have that confirmed we will be updating you all with who the exchange is and what needs to be done on your end to prepare for the snapshot with them. In the meantime, hold your SPR in your local Spreadcoin wallet until you hear from coins101 or myself on this front.

OMG, thanks ever so much Thanks to you and Krister to come back to us with concrete dates. Don't rush, a couple of days doesn't matter. But getting confirmation the project is still on track is very good! BTW, is the github up to date so I can check out and build on Linux specifically?

See my note a few posts up my friend. We will announce an exchange soon if all goes well with the final pieces of the snapshot being agreed upon. To play it safe you can move your Spreadcoins to your local Spreadcoin wallet and wait to hear from Coins101 or myself on this front.

are we going to use bittrex for the claiming of 1:1 with helium or we need to sign the message? i think it's better to do it like bitcoincash, less hassles imho

I have been bagholding Spread for so long now, all for Helium. Can hardly believe my patience will soon pay out. Helium is an amazing project, great and active team, great roadmap and for me, very appealing, masternodes. I will sure scoop some of those up
