As far as Torcoin goes, well, that "anonymous" thing is one of the selling points OP is using to advertise his coin. And he is certainly within his rights to do so. If people want to use Torcoin for nefarious activities, then they are taking a huge risk, and that's on them if they get tracked and caught.
oh well, do not shine with your degrees I've also got a degree;P so if you've got a degree you know that sending bitcoin from one address to another address might be considered perfectly anonymous as long as these can not be tied to any physical idenitity;d the rest is a advertising there is nothing to be surprised about. this is not a pilosophical thread these guys ate trying to advert a coin and they've got a right to do so;p Ok, let's get a few things straight. I wasn't "shining with my degrees", I was making a statement. Can you at least read what I posted before you come in to a conversation I was having with another poster? I was in no way claiming that Torcoin is any more or less anonymous than Bitcoin, so I don't know why you even brought that up. Congratulations on your degree. Now pay close attention to my post which you quoted... I even put the important part in bold. Read the last sentence you wrote in your post and then read what I posted in bold.

Very good to know Torcoin is actively traded in C-Cex, and now it is listed in TradeSatoshi also. The price of TOR is also healthy and now it is attracting many user communities by starting Signature and Social media Campaigns.

Can you at least read what I posted before you come in to a conversation I was having with another poster?
I woke up; my browser did not referesh the previous posts properly, my bad, lets keep cool shall we. It is good to see this coin getting to exchange markets indeed. Well good for the coin;) You see I'm sort of frustrated about the way things look like in the crypto-coin community but that is a completely different subject and I shall leave it for another occasion so not to spoil the fun around here. people are confusing so many terms so many pseudo-secure coins etc etc. pseudo-proofs flying around. soon we will come to a situation where people will be bundling GIMP with a coin in one package. propagating GIMPCoin. as for the technical details of the coin; X11 is pointless; besides I hope everyone knows that X11 is just a fancy name for a couple of hash functions implemented by some french guy and copy pasted initially by the X11 creator. well me? I also do the same;] BUT. if you ask me you should not be using a combination of hash functions for which ASICS already do exist. have some creative invention at least and do change something in the X11 so poeple with ASICS wouldn't be able to mine the shit out of everyone else. you've seen the poor guy who wanted to mine with a CPU? think about him;] I envision that in some years into the future we will be having a forum. maybe such as this one. maybe even this one. but where some real Legendary users will actually have a point in debunking coins which do not bring anything new to the field. Right now it looks like everyone wills to get some buck. typical wild-wild west. such a sitution allows for existance of GIMPCoins.

But today seems to be a good day, about 16000 USD traded so far in the last 24 hours. Maybe soon if it continues to grow. I think the anonymous part is the most important feature at the moment in cryptos.

I think the anonymous part is the most important feature at the moment in cryptos.
define anonymous.I would say the lack of centralisation is the most important. Every crypto coin can be regarded as anonymous. various bitcoin mining nodes exchange markets have already used Tor network for broadcasting transactions in the past etc. but when you get a centralised system for ex by some ASIC miners oh well. anonymous you might be but without your coins:P (in a really apocaliptic scenario). But bundling wallets, miners with a Tor interface seems like a nice feature. Though noone has yet officialy said when and what takes use of the Tor network, though there were many question we can just speculate and I do not have time to look into the source code. All I know is that the coin is bundled with a tor relay thats all. I'll now head to other coins/sections of this forum to say hi:P:P

Im looking forward to the future of Torcoin, I think when Torcoin actively traded in C-cex and listed at Tradesatoshi now it has a potential to earn more trust from the users. I'm just hoping your success.
More power Torcoin.

Why does it say that anyone watching your internet connection cannot figure you're using TorCoin because of tor, but on the torproject website they say you can be tracked that way?
Don't read too much into it. They're simply covering their asses in the event that someone does in fact get tracked doing something illegal by means of the Tor network. They will be able to say "I told you so" and not be held accountable. No network can guarantee 100% anonymity on the internet. Tor does a great job, but it's not infallible. A packet going through the Tor network can be intercepted at an exit node and some information can be gleaned from that. However, Tor is random and, in theory, never uses the same path twice. So there is no way of knowing which exit node is going to pass traffic at any given time. And that is, of course, unless someone has access to every known and unknown exit node all at once, which is impossible. That's the thing, is people have been tracked that way. The tor project will admit people have been tracked that way, which is why they help you with other ways around that. It doesn't seem anyone here, especially the dev has actually done research on how tor works. Ever wonder how people get tracked on the darknweb, yaknow, the part of the Web you access through tor? I'm very familiar with Tor and how it works. I did quite a bit of research and wrote several papers on it when getting my M.S. in Cybersecurity. I use Tor from time-to-time as well. I even went to some of the sites on the "dark web" to see what it was all about... once. Never again. There were way too many highly questionable things out there that I did not want to be associated with in any way. If you did so much research then you know that people have been caught and he lies when he says how anonymous it is. So not only did he ripoff the name and logo, he lied about the technology. No wonder the torproject wants nothing to do with this guy.

I found this announcement thread via the signature campaign thread, and thought I'd share some information... Not sure how I did this, but I managed to download a file called "coin.dmg" for my Mac. I got this from the TorCoin.org website (download section), and when I tried to install it, I got the default "this app was downloaded from the web from an unknown developer and cannot be opened" message. So I went back to torcoin.org's download section, clicked to download the mac wallet again, and noticed that it was now called "torcoin-Qt-OSX-v1000.dmg".
I've re-traced my steps from earlier, but can't seem to reproduce how I downloaded the file called "coin.dmg". Is this an official TorCoin wallet file? Or should I be concerned?

No technical information? You have the whole github infront of you. I meant to write provide, dunno why I wrote prove o.O For the rest of the info, I'm pretty sure you'll get a satisfactory answer from TheTorcoin when he gets online @btvGainer It's not loading for me either, but I see the link says Carsen so it might have been taken down, since he's our old dev Thanks.I hope torcoin get listed to bittrex.I will do my bit by tweeting but we need all supporters to do it so a new tweet to retewwt might help. yes mate if we continue showing support by doing some exposure into social media will be able to attract attention and by helping the dev with this even there's already signature and social media campaign individual post will still attract attention. good luck dev team.
