I'll also confirm that I do not work for the Tor Project Inc.,

I do have extensive long-term experience of hosting Tor Relays and Tor Exit Nodes ... also run by many other volunteers all around the world.

You can easily test for yourself that the Torcoin v1.0.0.0 wallet does not automatically run over Tor, as otherwise claimed in the OP.

If you are running the Torcoin wallet go to: Help > Debug window > console and type: getpeerinfo

This will show a list of your connected peers IP addresses. If the coin was connected over Tor then the majority of IPs would either be generated .onion addresses or IP's of actual Tor Exit nodes. You will not be able to match the IP addresses that your node is connected to with actual running Tor nodes : https://atlas.torproject.org/ (unless someone has configured a node to run via Tor for themselves).

I love how you totally avoided the posts by @SysFailure and @BitcoinFX Smiley Another thing I love about you is that everytime torcoin has a tiny spike you mention it. But you fail to mention the new all times lows that occur every 2-3 days, like for example today. Wonder how long it will take until this coin reaches 1 satoshi?

There seems to be some confusion about Tor integration.

Yes, TorCoin DOES create a full TOR node.  You simply need to download from the TOR branch on our github, not the main branch >>
https://github.com/TorCoinProject/torcoin/tree/tor

The main branch does not create a full TOR node.  I could of course change that, and maybe I should, but running Tor nodes is illegal in some countries, so I wanted to allow users the option.

In future releases, there will simply be a check-box in the Windows and MACOS wallets giving you the option to run a TOR node or not, in order to comply with local laws.

All of the people spreading FUD about Tor simply didn't read our docs at all, and were too lazy to look through the github - because TorCoin most definitely DOES CREATE TOR NODES.  Simply download from >>

It's not FUD. You clearly stated on the front page that it does one thing. I download the windows client and find my information is leaking everywhere. It does not work as you described.

So which version gets downloaded when you click "Download for Windows" or "Download for Mac" on the website?

@thetorcoin

Want to send a few TOR my way into my windows paper wallet so I can test the privatization of the nodes? I want to make sure that your claims are accurate, and defend you if the other person is lying.

The Windows and MACOS wallets don't integrate with TOR yet - but they will soon.  For now, it's just the linux version.  We have active devs working to create a switch that will enable users to turn Tor on/off when using the Windows and MacOS wallets, which enables them to comply with laws in their country or bypass Tor blockages (ie, in China)

Windows and MacOS are a nightmare for compatibility and development, as anyone in the industry knows. Getting them to integrate with TOR has not been easy, but it's under active development, along with an Android wallet.

The linux version does indeed create a Tor node, despite the FUD >> https://github.com/TorCoinProject/torcoin/tree/tor

A windows paper wallet definitely cannot create a Tor node. It's a paper wallet :-)

Happy to send a few TOR your way if you want to test the linux version under the TOR branch though.

Thanks! Hopefully I can clear up these accusations. I'll use the linux version and run a few tests

I'm running the TOR signature, but I'm far from one of these bagholders that you're talking about. I did see in previous messages that the linux wallet allows for a "stealth" mode. I looked for it on my Mac wallet, but didn't see the option.

Can you provide a projected timeline for when the PC/Mac versions will be available? Are we weeks away? Months?

Additionally, you may want to update the website and top post to inform anyone viewing the coin that "stealth" modes for PC/Mac are in the pipeline. It's better to stay transparent than anything.

'Stealth sending' works fine in the PC/MAC versions.  Just not TOR integration - yet.

First on the list is Android wallet, then TOR integration for the Windows  / MacOS wallets.  I would estimate under 1 month, probably closer to 2 weeks.

So just to be clear. I'll download the torcoin tor node that you linked into linux. Then take some screenshots to show it is working. Let's see how it goes!
