I think I agree with your point that give Ole a few more matches but no more than that. But I do think that Conte could be a viable option for United. He may have issues with the board or something, but he can give United the headstart that is very much needed for them. Ole is right now getting almost zero value out of the team. Even the players don't even seem like they obey Ole or consider him as their leader or something. If not Conte, at least Zidane can be a good enough option. Though he has little experience but he can manage a star-stacked team and he can make the players listen to him.

Ferguson's words are taking very seriously at Old Trafford due to his contributions and it seems like he has backed Ole once again. By the third game, do you mean playing in the Champions League with Atalanta? Because in the EPL the third game will be with one of the outsiders and I would not take it into account when trying to determine the quality of United's play. I think some Manchester United fans have rejected Solskjaer to continue his work at Manchester and actually the Manchester United squad is doing well now, but as we all know Solskjaer does not have the ability to maximize their current squad, the only weakness of Manchester United now this is, their game strategy which is monotonous and too easy for opponents to guess, besides that Solskjaer is also not able to motivate its players when the game is in progress.

It is obvious that you hate Manchester United. You are less concerned about the how dilapidated the team is currently. I think the board had decided to give Ole more games time to prove himself, if not I am very sure he must has been sacked after being trashed by Liverpool, Man Utd may get back to their winning ways once again and the rumour will automatically die down just like when Mikel Arteta was at the receiving end when Arsenal was on a losing streak, there was speculations that he will be replaced with Sam Allydyce then, however things turned around and Arsenal got back to their winning ways I believe it will also happen with Ole.
