The bigger question is going to be whether Manchester United wants him to be a part of their team?

There is no doubt that Manchester United has a good amount of attacking players in their team. The most important thing that Manchester United needs right now is defensive players. Therefore, I do not think that they are going to make an offer that will be hard for Ajax to refuse when it comes to Antony.

However, if he had been a defensive player, probably the story would have been different. As of right now, I do not see a reason why Manchester United is going to meet with him. There is no doubt that Manchester United will be able to get a striker into the team, but it would be a bad idea to do so.

Firstly, to what extent De Jong does not want to leave is not known, but it is known for sure that he does not want to leave without the money that Barcelona already owes him. I have no idea whether Manchester's goalkeeper really is to blame for the bad start into the season, but so far I wasn't of the impression that that is a position where they need to immediately improve, is it?

Now for Frankfurt that would be really bad. After winning the Europa League they needed to let go Kostic now and if Trapp also leaves, that would be quite the bummer for them. On top of that their start into the season was also quite disappointing. That's some interesting to be followed over the next couple of days!

As far as I know, Franky de Jong is not going to be on the list of players Manchester United is interested in at the moment. There is a possibility that Manchester United could still be looking for a way to bring Franky de Jong to the team even if they failed to obtain Casemiro. Right now, the biggest problem for Manchester United is the defensive end of the field. There is no way I know how they are going to solve that problem.

I initially thought they might try to sell Harry Maguire, but who would want to buy him at this point in time? There is also no way that Manchester United can do anything about it because he is just a burden on them. 80 million = nothing in the end.

Manchester United now tried a couple of times to purchase their way out of the crisis. The end result has been very similar. Pogba is one such example that really didn't work out that well. He isn't a bad player, but it was just not the perfect fit for him. They are buying all these players but they seem to be lacking a coach understands how to put the puzzle pieces together. Bellingham is a good player, but they aren't really lacking speed in their offensive game when you look at the players on paper. They have Rashford and also Ronaldo. They need to improve as a whole, in working together on the field back and forth. Ultimately, it will also come down to ten Haag. Coaching Ajax Amsterdam is quite different from coaching Manchester United. When you spent five years in the Eredivisie you might think you are able to coach any team in the world because you constantly won the title there, but that is just not the case. I can tell Manchester United are still very interested in signing Anthony and are optimistic a deal will be realistic before the end of the transfer window. However I read a statement on the web from the Ajax coach saying the club have already sold 4 to 5 key players and he wants Anthony to remain at the club and has made his decision known to the management of the club, now it is up to the management to decide whether or not he will remain.

Why it isn't realistic? Don't you know that Casemiro and Frenkie de Jong have different positions? Casemiro is a defensive midfielder, while Frenkie de Jong is a central midfielder. Their nature/characteristics are different, Casemiro is good for defense but Frenkie is good for attacking. So, it is actually no problem to have them both in Man United squad. The problem is that Man United already has too many midfielders. Adding Frenkie to the squad means there is another player who is going to sit on the bench. Man United needs to sell some of their current midfielders to balance their midfield line.

The thing is that United themselves probably still can't believe why Maguire dropped so hard recently. When they bought him at first I really thought it was the right decision. Such a powerful defender with qualities in the offensive game as well especially in standard situations.

Now getting a new defense together that works properly is a monster task for ten Haag. The strong defenders aren't usually available anymore and those who might be available for a lot of money also would prefer to play champions league instead of Europa league.

It's a complicated situation and I'd think one way out can be to get Maguire back to normal. Many of the other options would also be an experiment. There is no defender who now comes to my mind that could be bought by Manchester and is highly likely to play well right from the get go with the other teammates. The win today may change the situation a bit and give them some time to work on defensive tactics.
