Being the best striker in Ligue 1 is not sufficient to become the Ballon D'or winner and I also think that it really matters what team you are playing for when that individual title is your goal as well. He might have a chance when PSG won the Champions League and he would be the most successful striker in that season, but that is unrealistic as it turned out quite often now.

If he was playing for a different team, he would have been the Ballon D'or winner already and since Messi and Ronaldo are gone now, his time has come I think to even win it several times with the right team.
