The Saudi Pro League can't simply buy everyone inside all the leagues (or even all of the best players in the leagues), there's not enough room for that, and its quickly unsustainable even with oil money, without a doubt capable of causing insolvency of the buying clubs.

In italy there are many fans who are racist. A good example was Mario Ballotelli, who even played in the nationalteam and led Inter Milan to 2 championships. Chelsea could add some new fresh legs like this and could actually make it work better. Overpaying for known names wasn't a good idea, the team didn't fit together that way and the results didn't come.

I have seen them have 3 players for the same position and buy a fourth one. That type of "lets get all the big names we can" idea was a terrible one. Ronaldo is really that influential, they planned it all along they knew if Ronaldo joined the league he may draw some european players to join also.
