Is it realistic that all these calls for refunds will even be processed by Avalon?

I can't see why Avalon would not attempt to fill the order to at least salvage some reputation. But there is obviously a lot going on behind the scenes that we have no knowledge of, the fact that we haven't been told doesn't really instill confidence either.

With such large sums involved I'm pretty shocked that Avalon have been so quiet.

Maybe when I arrive back from my holiday I'll have a bunch of ASICS waiting for me lol

I'm up for refund.

If they are refunding batches ordered until 1st of June, maybe they didn't pay the factory at all. Maybe our chips have never been produced.
Why give refunds for early orders if not?

Also, i will accept any democratic choice: no problem if the most of the people wants the chips.

It's always been a hobby for me, so I still want my ASICs, even if I won't make a net profit.
Though I can understand that for some of you it is pure business.
Anyway, I'd like my chips sooner rather than later.  Roll Eyes

there is other equipment available now that has a better ability to make a profit, as well as the fact that the produced K16s will be marked waay down in the near future (think asicminer)

Im in a similar boat as you, but a refund would be faster and better to re-invest in a gen2 product

Steve, what's going on mate?

We doing refunds! Partial refunds?

Can we go half refunds! Half deliveries?  Just so yo can still cover some of your initial outlay?

Tip Me if believe BTC1 will hit $1 Million by 2030

He has been connected yesterday, i think he's reading the topic and he is evaluating the possibilities. I understand it must be very complicated for him, dealing at the same time with factory (and expenses, orders) and customers (and new avalon refund policy).

As a batch 1 customer, I agree a refund seems like the best option at this point.

I just don't want that decision to cost Steve anything.

Are the boards fully payed. Do you keep the funds in btc or are they payed/converted. How much can we get refunded.

I asked him personally ;

Code:
Hi,
It's a bit late as i have paid for the components already..

this is the answer i guess all things are paid!

Still, I'd be willing to eat the cost of boards/components if we can get the chips refunded.  That would still be the more profitable route at this point.

Steve, please weigh in and let us know our options.

Im in for full refunds of the chip price. The best possible option for now is to wait until 2nd gen chips samples and specs would be available. Also, in my opinion, as the new chip would be mostly compatible (at least what was stated from avalon) it's very likely that K16 pcb's with a little changes could handle 2nd gen chips, so most of the already ordered components can be reused.

I am with marto on this one:
I want my chips sent to my assembler.
I do not want a refund.

can you explain why?

do you have a method and you will see ROI ?

do you know something that we do not know?

- or is more like curiosity... to see the PCB populated and up and running knowing that you will NEVER get your invested money back... and talking about profit is useless

Yep
1. I don't need them to ROI, i have payed with bitcoins mined from my farm witch have ROI-d itself long time ago. So this is reinvestemnt for me.
2. I don't pay for electricity
3. They will ROI. It will take 4 months for that according to my calculations.
