Can someone give me some advice on selecting a power supply for my first rig?

Go with the highest efficiency PSU you can find.

I have two rigs;
2*1080ti on a modern Corsair 80+ gold 850W PSU
1*1080ti and 1*1070 on a 10 Y.O. Generic 750W PSU

The corsair pulls +340W (above idle) when mining at 72% TDP
The generic pulls +376W (above idle) when mining at 72% TDP / 80% TDP (1070)

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I will only be using server PSUs for all GPUs from now on. so much cleaner and easier

each 1200w PSU I have it  power 4 1080TIs or 6 1080s

I think have a 500w PSU powering the MB and risers

all 240v of course

Server PSUs are very nice as long as you don't have them in a living space (very loud under load). We are using them for most of our rigs on my wife's farm and if you use splitters you can run the GPu and risers all of the same PCI-E cables (use 14 or 16 AWG cables of course).  With the right custom cables and a Pico PSU for the motherboard you can even avoid an ATX PSU altogether, although we have not tried that setup it does look tempting.

ya man, if i could GET a few of those nice Finsky Jabberwoks for the ti builds i would be SO happy, i am thinking of moving more away from the ATX PSU build model as well, cant beat how CLEAN those server rigs look Cheesy

hello!

can anyone tell me wich one of the gtx 1080 ti cards to buy? thx

http://www.mediamarkt.de/de/search.html?query=gtx+1080+ti&searchProfile=onlineshop&channel=mmdede

thx

Love my Zotact Amp Extreme. Stock already heavily OC. Running very cool even on my tropical climate.
Worth thst extra $ i think

totally agree Cheesy worth every penny i think.  i thought at first maybe it wasent but reading others doing 700 sol/s at 95% TDP and here i do 750 at 70% TDP at damn near stock clocks just smiling Cheesy

75% and 750! Which setting? That is nice. Stable and sustainable?

like +150/-400 i believe, tho i have it stock right now as i flashed clean drivers and it does so well i just left it ;p 700+ sol/s  +0/+0

700 sol/s is a good mark for stock clocks, last time I did constant  810 sol/s with my 1080Ti Aorus at 2.0GHz boost core clock / 12GHz memory oced, 85% tdp, temps at 50-60 Celsius, fans at 100%.

810 sols/s Huh that doesnt sound real.  What was your the add to you core clock?  Most cant go over 100 or 120 at 100% TDP.  Overclocking the RAM does nothing really for mining Zec.  If you set it to 0 instead of negatives it can sometimes boost it slightly.  Sounds like you are remembering incorrectly your values, as stock values will generally bring  the most sols on an Auros card as they don't have much room to overclock and memory doesn't really effect it that much.  I generally couldn't get over 740 on an auros regauardless of settings and I own 3 of them.

Is there a connector for the CPU as well?  What kind of splitter are you using to power the risers?

Hi all,

I'm trying to divesify my rigs as I have 50+ 1060 and 12 RX.
I'm thinking on building some 1080ti's rigs and I wanted some feedback:
What is the hashrate on Skein: 1000Mh/s? How much a day are you guys making on 1 card: is 16$/day still a thing?
Are you guys mining anything other than Skein?

Thanks

I have 3x Gigabyte 1080 Ti, 950MH with each GPU for Skein with 85% TDP, total daily income 16-20$

At today's DGB rate of     0.00000684 BTC u still earning that???

Well, i sold my 1080Ti's.

With today's profits, such an expensive and power hungry card is no longer viable.
Best to sell while they are still worth something  Cheesy

I'm currently using EVGA Precision X OC.  I tried MSI Afterburner first, but couldn't find a way to reduce power consumption.  With the EVGA software I slide the "Power Target" to 90% right now.

The program has shown a little flakiness.  Tonight I noticed it wan't updating it's window and Nicehash had was at $0.  Had to use Task Manager to kill EVGA Precision X OC.  Was able to start mining again and even started up EVGA Precision X OC again.  I've also noticed on one or more occasions that the settings I put in went back to defaults without any intervention by me.  May have happened when I launched GPU-Z one time.

What do you guys use to tweak the settings for your cards?

He should not unless he found a magical pool which triples the amount of DGB for such a regular hash rate as it is kinda what we all get from a 1080Ti.

If we take 350 DGB in average per 24 hours per card, it's still 0.00000684*350= ~0.0024 btc = 6$ per day. Why not?
Pretty solid result atm. But if we keep DGB in the wallet, until price grow up(currently it's a bit undervalued imo) -> we could earn more.

This is a calculator and the profit at the current difficulty. It's real. There still are  coins that can give you more than $10 per card per day.

My miner does 15.5 MHASH  on the 1080ti. A 480x does 3MHASH with the opensource miner.

Anyone trird this yet? Any result?
Maybe all nvidia shifted to this n its back $5/day. Lol!

Just Sp trying to make some beer money.  It will be down to nothing in a day or two.
feeling like being cheated.11 gtx1080ti with sp spreadcoin version, runing speed at 11-14M,find only 5 blocks in 14 hours.which is 10mbtc at current price.just too bad,1/3 to his saying.
the beer is too expensive.

First of all I confused the message I quoted with the one it quoted Smiley
The one above says 3  gpu and 16-20USD income but the other one asks for 1 card 16USD/day

BTW
If you get 350 DGB per 24 hours. Yes it is possible. But it seems I do not see such numbers recently.
It is more like 310-330 levels so far. I may not be pushing the cards and hash rate as I have around 920 mh/s per card.
Maybe pool is not a lucrative one. I use Yiimp so far.

Which pool do you use? What is your 24 hour DGB amount and 1080 Ti hash rate to make them?

I also use YII pool, my 3 1080ti run at 2950 Mh/s and I'm getting about 340-350 DGB per card per 24 hours.
One my card(inno3d) is not so good and it run on 950 Mh/s and gets hot about 75 degrees... While EVGA runs at 1000 and has 55-60 temp.

Hi, I want to buy miners with 6 1080ti but I have some doubts, I read that the 1080ti founder edition are the best models of 1080ti to mine, is it true ?, another question, to move 6 1080ti that motherboard model is good? and last question , Is a 1600 power supply correct or does it need more power? Thanks.

sp spreadcoin version, runing speed at 11-14M

Other users report speeds of 14-16Mhash. What driver are you using? You have to use 382.xx and not the 384.xx driver
To reach full speed you cannot reduce the tdp. Spreadcoin sp-miner #10 is a power hungry algo

Would anyone be willing to share a DGB bat file that has all the coding to adjust tdp, memclock, core values, etc.

I am looking to get off nicehash, but not really good with bat configs.

Any help is much appreciated.
