Afraid of August One?

We are already in July and August 1 is coming...the day when Segwit would start signalling for all and what will happen after this date is something many fear of. Will there be a split and what will happen on the split?

I have already read some assurance that at the current rate things are doing, the possibility for a split is getting remote. Maybe the overarching interest of all stakeholders has already dawned to many.

I'm not totally afraid on August 1 I'm confident that the segwit will be successful. And I'm trusting bitcoins, they accomplished too far they will never fall tofay or even in the future. The moderator will not let that happen, a lot of people will complain.

As far as I know there is nothing much to be worried about. I had heard that after 1st august the Bitcoin prices are going to blast. Which is indeed a good news for us. But now you are talking about splitting and stuff I don't think so anything like that would happen. So rather just wait and let's hope for the best

I agree. Someone told me that segwit is already successful. And i believe in him becuase the value of btc right now is rising and i wish it will continue to rise up.
I heard some topics about splitting of btc that it will be cancelled but i dont think if it is true. But im afraid in that day.

I don't feel anything special for that day, I also don't think that August 1 will come easily and will also without any interruption over Bitcoin. so let's be cool and easy. hopefully, there will not be anything which harmful for this platform. if the negative thing will happen then it will be really dangerous for its future.

It not a special occasion. It is a like a nightmare day for bitcoin in my view. Confirmation time gonna increase and increase of block size also do something I think. Always be prepare for the issue and hold the bitcoin and buy the bitcoin as much you can. New multiple coin would not come at all.

Individuals don't feel something special or harmful these days, but ICOs started to postpone or delay their token sales. This is why they're scared of segwit and other attempts.

Not sure, Maybe I'll just buy off all of my bitcoins into other alts.

I am not disrespectful to you but would like to give you an advice. Just be sure of your decision regarding bitcoins and Segwit. Segwit is nothing, just a checkpoint through which bitcoins will enter to the phase where their values will tremendously increase. Selling off bitcoins for altcoins is so ludicrous and vice versa. Hold on to your bitcoins for few more weeks to be among the luckiest traders of the world.

Yes, I think there is a chance that I will have some fake bitcoins as bitcoin network will be stolen by thieves.

What is there to even be afraid of with  August 1st? Even with a (remote chance of a) potential chain split and possible network disruption, so what? Even with a subsequent significant drop in price, so what? It's not like the price of bitcoin will continue to freefall. As long as you take the necessary precautions of securing your bitcoins you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Once it all plays out, we'll see what's what and go on from there.

People care because we are talking about money here, and some have invested an important part of their life savings in it, so it is not as easy as you think, bitcoin is going to recover no matter what happens but for those holding coins it is not as easy to recover from huge losses.

That's exactly what I was thinking, it's because it involves money and life savings that's why people are worried and nervous, it's not easy to loose this way because of the huge investments that people have in bitcoins and that's what gives me all the hope that things will work out good and Bitcoin will be solidified.

Yeah those that have low amounts of bitcoin, do not have as much to lose as someone that does have large amounts of bitcoin, especially since we are not talking only about money here, there are many people that have dedicated a great part of their time to bitcoin and they could lose that so it is o wonder people are afraid.

I'm not afraid but I'm more worried about how the process will go and when will it be stabilized the infracture and how people will deal in this mess when also exchanges will block the deposit/withdrawal.

Investing always contains risk. If you invest your money in bitcoin, you have to accept the possibility that you may lose all of your money. I can not ensure whether bitcoin keep surviving or not but I will still hold my bitcoin. After all, we have successfully activate the that segwit and therefore, we do not need to worry about the confirmation times anymore.

Honestly, the first time I heard that chainsplitting news I got afraid and think to cash out all my btc but after I had read some helpful article ecplaining the process to happen I calm and waiting for that fay.

I'm actually thinking about moving all my bitcoins to altcoins so I can have a peace of mind. Lol. It's still a month from now and it's already bugging me alot. I think it will either crash hard or rise hard. Not sure though, since segwit2x is on the lead. But I think I'll play it safe for now.

No bud don't do this, the alt coins move dependent on what happens with bitcoin. Just put your coins in cold storage if you're worried about the fork not going properly. If you're worried about trade swings then that's a whole different ball game there.

I was referring to actually sell alts to maximise BTC amount for the fork, even if losing some in the sell out to BTC, or even purchase BTC for cash!

You are assuming that Bitcoin Cash will lose support very quickly. I don't think it is that obvious. A lot of people will hold on to their Bitcoin Cash and see if it develops into something meaningful.

Not anymore simply because i believe on bitcoin and i know that even the price drop it will bounce back like what happen few weeks ago, whales are just preparing there money when the price dumps they will buy more. Just hold your bitcoin and see this after years.
