You may choose to store your key in a number of places including a paper printout, a hard drive, or an Online Drive

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

If you want to secure your bitcoins I think the the best way is to have multiple wallets because you must not have store your btc in one account, there are many hackers out there just to be sure.

Everything can be hacked. Just make sure you have your own private keys. One of the safest ways to keep your coins is to save them on a paper wallet. Make sure you don't lose your paper wallet!

it's possible,
in early 2014, someone found out how to calculate a private key from outgoing transaction signature,
that's why we shouldn't reuse 1 address several times

There are hackers that can hack everything. Maybe best way to protect yourself is to use one device for those purpose only and to use another for everything else ( Facebook, Twitter, instagram, etc).

can they hack into our wallet. There are many professional hackers out there. What are the chances? Also what is the safest way to safeguard ourself?
It depends on its users since it can be hacked through phising/SQL program. The chances can't be determined since we don't have a basis. The safest way to guard yourself is to use 2fa security so it's impossible to get hacked though they have your password, wallet ID/username/email.

I've been a victim of phising program, in a form of a bitcoin forum specifically. One thing I learned from that is that we should always be careful on entering any sites and clicking links everywhere. It's best to enable 2fa on both bitcoin wallet and emails too. I've lost a couple of bitcoins from that and I've been more careful since then.

Today people can hack into everything it's just the time that's a variable. Your best bet is to have clean pc and take care of what you download and install. The chances are high if you're not careful. The wallet is secure as much as you're taking care of it's security.

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

They surely can, but it's not easy to do. It might aslo depend on what kind of wallet you use.

All still leads to our decision, antivirus will not be useful if we make mistakes like your friend, for airdrop case you can scan the wallet in virustotal.com, bitcoin is very secure but still requires personal responsibility.

I'm not sure if anti virus is really enough. What I did is just used my laptop only dedicated for my bitcoin activity. I already tell my kids that my laptop is off limits from now on because I'm afraid that they will download games that has a malware and still all my private keys. But I have another laptop that they can used anytime, but not this one.

Here are some steps you have take to have a safer bitcoin wallet:

1. Installing malfare protection to prevent spyware and for also your own personal protection.

2. Using multiple address and also a mixing service. This should prevent hackers from tracking that address and finding your wallet. Mixing services should confuse hackers also.

3. Consider cold storage. I would definitely recommend getting a hardware wallet. Ledger wallets are currently unavailable, but you could still get a Trezor. You could get a paper wallet, or use a physical item to store Bitcoin.

Yes it can happen if you are using an online wallet, i recommend you to use offline wallets to save your funds and also take some additional security measures like verification checks for your wallet this will improve the security.

If you really take care of your security seriously then no one is able to hack your account, make sure your security updates are update and never used trial or cracked versions and never visit or open fishy websites if you want to stay safe and under the radar.

Yes it can be hacked. Hackers have no limitations when it becomes to technology, even government securities can ba hacked. Our wallets also so i recommend you to create mot just one wallet but multiple to separate all your incomes and of you want a high security, just invest it in a bank or in your house. There is no escape when it becomse in this situation if the person wants to steal tour money no matter what medium it is they will steal it. If online they will hacked, if bank there is taxes and if in your home or in a vault case there is a robber.

the biggest security flaw is your own ability to keep your info from being compromised. best way to do this is by being aware of the potential attacks, commonly being weak passwords or security answers, phishing scams, malicious software, etc. do your research on security if you plan on storing a large amount of crypto or any currency online and you should be well off.

Until now nobody can hack bitcoin wallet except due to errors and inability of wallet users, we never heard blockchain on hack, it proves that this system is very safe and can be used for safe and convenient transaction
Sorry to burst your bubble but exchanges have been hacked and much money has been lost because of that, I honestly do not remember if an online wallet has been hacked but I will not be surprised if it was, that is why it is recommended in the forum that you never keep an important amount of coins in an online wallet and that instead you keep most of your coins in a wallet you control and if possible that you keep that wallet in cold storage.

If it's a professional hacker is what we're talking about (or even an amateur) , of course, there's a great chance or possibility that they can get into our account. There are so many ways that a hacker can hack into our account, i.e. downloading an application or something into an unknown source and installing it on your pc or mobile are one. Sometimes it's our own fault that makes way for hackers to get into our accounts.
