In my understanding, Bitcoins can be stolen by thieves, but it can't be hacked. The private key is too long and complex to be hacked through any method, including brute force. In future it may be possible, but right now no one is capable of hacking the private key.
Well boy, if they have more easy methods, then why will they go after the troublesome ones? Brute force and dictionary attacks are not the only keys to open the lock. You see, nowadays they try to trick you by using methods like social engineering, making a backdoor etc. So just be aware of everything.

can they hack into our wallet. There are many professional hackers out there. What are the chances? Also what is the safest way to safeguard ourself?

there is no simple answer to the first part of your question. there are lots of different types of wallets and each type has multiple wallets. it is simpler for some to get hacked (like web wallets) while it is hard or even impossible for others to get hacked (eg. desktop and paper wallet).
as for the second part, just learn what a cold storage is. how to install a wallet offline and how to spend from an offline wallet and you are safe.

We bitconers should guard our wallet and bitcoin should me advance to any hackers!!! Just in case...

a multi signature wallet cannot be hacked ! But virus can ! It can easily take all your bitcoin when your computer is in virused ! But when you don't hacker can't attack you ! Desktop wallet is hard to hack ! However if your email is scured and your password is unique, there no chance for them ! Always try to private key is secure ! Also enable two-factor authentication ! Use pin ! REMEMBER ! DON'T PUT ALL YOUR BITCOIN IN ONE WALLET !
This is really possible a bitcoin wallet can be hacked. Yes a virus can attacked if there is no security feature installed. However, let's just be cautious to secured our wallet and don't put your hard earned btc in one bitcoin wallet.

No, thats the good thing about Bitcoin, is that you have security and privacy. Smiley Of course if you have an online wallet, your password may be stolen somehow, especially if you use same passwords in many sites. Just keep your private keys safe, and don't let anyone have access to it. Smiley
If your are scared of losing of all your Bitcoin there is still a lot of option for you to HD your Bitcoin in a much safer way. But it is true that the good thing about Bitcoin is privacy for every transaction so the possibility to hacked it is very low enough for hacker's not to try on dealing with hacks. So the best thing to do is to trust Bitcoin because it is hard to do thing when you are scared.

yeah i couldn't agree more with you that 2 factor authentication will enhanced your security of your wallet. it's very recommended for everyone to use 2 authentication factor to their wallet.  a professional hacker can makes a virus that would attack the system of wallet but it's depend on what kind of wallet you used.

For me it is very possible to hack bitcoin account especially if it put in online wallet because there is no safe in internet now and everything can happen. Be sure to safeguard key first and avoid opening link that can be lead to phishing an account. There are many possibilities that account can be hack we should be very careful on every move we made.

No it's not that easy. Let's say you have a btc wallet on your desktop and your pc get's hacked in that situation you might end up losing your btcs. Second scenario everything online has some vulnerability now as far as i know xapo claims to store there funds in a cold wallet and the only way to get the funds from a cold wallet is through physically being their so by this information provided by them your btcs are safe in xapo.
If you still don't trust all these online wallets just buy a cold storage it is the safest out there.

I very much agree with you bro. anything can happen anytime. Weak links are always present in a chain. You just need to find that and strike it. Sadly, in cyber world, humans are the weakest link. They can be tricked and manipulated easily. Most of the hacks take place due to this fact.

Ill be just direct to point on my own opinion.. It can and many hackers can do it but do you think they will compromised the existence of bitcoin to this.. No they will not because as we been benefited by using bitcoin it is them the one who mostly be benefited.. If wallets be hack bitcoin will collapse and they will also be affected..

Yaa i think many pro hackers now can hack your account. So be carefull and always secure your account and remember always becuase many people now forgt their password so its good if you save in some computer laptop notes or fb or any wallets to protect your account to hackers .
I have the same vision in this regard. The real hackers which never come on the screen, rather pull the strings from behind the smoke screen can find a vulnerability in any technology. It is said that, "No matter how powerful a technique appears, it always has a weakness." In order to stay safe, it is better to not lay your guards down.
It is so right. Hackers can make access to any system even it is so secure. No matter what you have secured at your level they will come to know it sooner or later. So better is to have safeguard your accounts by making some precautions that system told you. And always be careful while using your accounts.

Do you understand what you're talking about? Hackers can, hackers can ...
You should understand how hackers get access to your accounts, for example on facebook or any other account.

First, it's a search of passwords, i.e. brutofors. But this is relevant only to those sites where there is no captcha and where there is no protection from brutofors.
Second, this is the most common way, your computer is infected with a virus (trojan), it intercepts your password and sends it to a hacker.
The third, the last option, is accessing your email (using the first two options), and resetting the password for your account.

And the fact that you write just empty words like that.

Believe me, it's impossible to be 100% safe. I'll sort some hacking methods:
The most known method is brute forcing and using keylogger wich is used generally by begginers and unprofessinal hackers. You can avoid such attacks by keeping your pc clean by using antivirus and antimalwares (..) and using strong passwords.
But, the most dangerous hackers use what they call social engineering, which mean they dont have to get into your pc but they get into your mind, for example, someone will pretend to be your friend and use that to get valuable information from you like your birthday or ID number that he will use later to guess your password or reset them..
So, be safe and trust no one.

Of course. a lot of hackers out there who can see the gaps or bugs of our wallet. we just hope that we are not a target of their goals. I think a lot of hackers are good and will not do dirty things like that. just a little advice, do not open the link carelessly before everything you have is true in a safe condition.

if you wanna have a better security, i would recommend to have a multi signature wallet (the address with prefix of 3 instead of 1). in case of possibility of being hacked, they need certainly large amount of computing power which consumes all the possible energy in the Earth as there are more than googol (IIRC) of possible combinations and not all the private key is valid for bitcoin address.
Using multiple type of wallet is a good thing to consider if you want to increased your security in terms of your holdings. It is much more easier if you will depends your wallet on your usage, for example you can used wallet that is in a form of application if you are going to deal with transactions on direct mode. It could be handy to consider it because it is much used wallet through out the transactions. But if you are going to deal with long term holdings and trading it is much better to used hardware wallet or online wallet with higher security and codes.

If we are just talking about online wallets, then it is more possible than hackers hacking the private keys of a bitcoin address. This can even be seen in the original white paper of satoshi. He explained there that it would even be more expensive to hack someone's private key than just to mine it himself. Virtually impossible to hack even the transactions too.

I think it can be happen Cheesy. But it'll be more difficult if you use a two-authentication wallet that mean if they wanna send bitcoin in your wallet they have to know the code on your mobile Cheesy. But when you use some two-authentication you will have to pay much more fee when you made a transaction that why a lot of people just use a wallet with normal sercure. Beside, you can try cold wallet, nobody can touch your Bitcoin if you don't connect the wallet with your computer but It's a little bit expensive, about 89 Euro for one piece.

I think you can be assured of this. The fact is, hackers are already paying attention to the btc wallet, but if they can easily hit it, btc died a few years ago when there was a price boom. But as long as the number of blocks is expanded, hackers have the opportunity to attack.
