Do I agree with the death penalty? For this case: yes, I agree. But, my little heart is a little flicked. Is the death penalty actually "enough" to give deterrent effect to the perpetrators (and sexual predators still hanging around out there)?

The word death is actually a punishment for people who would try to make some crime like this rape case.  Hearing the word death is spooky thus, it could be a good way for punishment.  But it is not enough for the rapist to have such punishment considering that what he done is beyond imaginable.  Maybe castration would be good then after that he should serve to the community.  Then he should then be punished through death penalty.

Death penalty must be the mandatory minimum. But we can add additional punishments, depending on the brutality of rape. For example, rape with foreign or sharp objects causing grievous harm can be punished by a sentence of 20 years in a penal colony, before the death sentence being carried out.

The death penalty for rape is too cruel. The punishment should be commensurate with the harm suffered by the victim. It seems to me that the degree of punishment should be determined by the victim and not the judge. The judge must ensure only that the charges were well deserved.

Crime rate fall 13% in philippines including Rape according to the Philippine National Police. In my country rapist punishment is life imprisonment but i would like death sentence as punishment so nobody will imitate their act though death sentence is not yet implemented in my country.

As long as the Catholic church remains powerful in the Philippines, they will never allow the implementation of death penalty in that country. It is time for the Filipinos to ask for the separation of church from the state.

Yes I agree that they have to suffer first before killing them.  Because when they already dead then their sufferings will end.  For sure they regret that they did or committed that crime of rape.  And it is a torture for them to think what bad they become especially if the victim is of their own blood or it is an innocent one.  Then after all the sufferings, maybe they should be slowly killed.  I mean, little by little torture is enough until they die.

Death is too cruel punishment for rapists. You need to cut off their genitals and put them in jail for the rest of their lives. And for women, self-defense means should be made available in the event of a victim attack.

I agree with this. It feels like the victim here is living in hell when she's with the rapist. If I will be a victim of rape I'd rather die than to live with that rapist.

Yes I agree that they have to suffer first before killing them.  Because when they already dead then their sufferings will end.  For sure they regret that they did or committed that crime of rape.  And it is a torture for them to think what bad they become especially if the victim is of their own blood or it is an innocent one.  Then after all the sufferings, maybe they should be slowly killed.  I mean, little by little torture is enough until they die.

That is why sending them to slave labor for the rest of their lives is the best solution. Once they become too weak to work, they can be shot dead. Any revenue from their labor can be used to rehabilitate the victim.

This the best answer I want to read on this thread. Rape is  my most hated crime of all. Because I respect woman. Woman deserves to be love and care and those rapist needs to be torture first before they die

A lot of women provoke rapists to rape. I'm certainly not making excuses for rapists. I just want to say that women need to always be alert and not neglect their safety. As for the death penalty I'm against it because I know several cases where women blackmail men to report rape and extort money for it.

That could be the hardest part of a womans life. Living on the same place with the person who insulted her dignity so i would also not going to agree with that. Tho on the other hand if ever that a woman becomes pregnant due to being raped living with her child even if hard is still the best thing to do

That's true, I want them to suffer inside the jail, and experience hell. If killing is their payment for their sins I think there is no hell there. I believe that they need to repent first. There are a lot of bad people around us in this world and we need to be smart so that criminals will stop their doings if they will know what hell their lives would be if they do something bad with other people.
