That could be the hardest part of a womans life. Living on the same place with the person who insulted her dignity so i would also not going to agree with that. Tho on the other hand if ever that a woman becomes pregnant due to being raped living with her child even if hard is still the best thing to do

If the woman gets pregnant after the rape, then she should be allowed to abort the fetus. Some of the ultra-religious nations such as Ireland refuse abortion to rape-victims, and this must be condemned.

That's true, I want them to suffer inside the jail, and experience hell. If killing is their payment for their sins I think there is no hell there. I believe that they need to repent first. There are a lot of bad people around us in this world and we need to be smart so that criminals will stop their doings if they will know what hell their lives would be if they do something bad with other people.

In my country, it is very tough situation for rapists inside the prisons. The other prisoners beat them up whenever they get an opportunity. So it is an additional punishment for them, on top of the prison sentences which they already got. But any sort of punishment seems to have little effect on some of these rapists. They will commit their next rape as soon as they get out of the prison.

My personal opinion on the matter: To let go free the rapist if the victim ONLY has the right to agree to marry him or death punishment if she doesn't agree.

This seems like a good system. In any case if they marry then she can divorce the next day and take half. Some of those marry the rapist rules are from old times when a woman couldn't divorce and take half, but there may have been rules in place where she and her children would inheret land and other property that the rapist had, so she was better off this way. If she was mistreated then she could leave but the inheritance would still apply.

This brings up another question I have. In America today how is rape treated as a civil offense? Can the rape victim collect damages from the rapist? What if the rapist is in jail from the criminal offense and doesn't have a job or money anymore?

The other thing that seems to be the case is that at least in the USA all cases of rape are sort of treated the same legally regardless of the circumstances. If a couple has consensual sex and then the next day the guy rapes here it's not really the same as if he was a stranger. Do people here think that how severe rape is depends on the circumstances?

This is a very difficult issue and it needs to be solved crucially and rigidly. Among people there are many who do poorly, but understand that this should be punished. The Human World is full of cruelty and I have to respond to this cruelty with cruelty, Although it is somehow necessary to eradicate this.

In India for the past few years there are many rape incidents happen and there are no safely young women in this country. The rapists are not even punished and are left freely. I do not know how will the victims lead their life after such incident has happen in their life. In some countries, the rapists are let off freely if they marry the victim. According to you, what can be the best punishment for these rapists so that no one else should think of raping a women. I like the punishment which is given in most of the Muslim countries - hanged to death in public. Do you think that this is fair or they should marry the victim???

For me the punishment for rapist is death by firing squad because rape is a brutal crime so it should be paid in a brutal way too.I do beleive that in this way citizen of a country with this punishment will be afraid to commit crime and through this rape cases will be decrease.

It should be stop. I like the idea of hanging the convicted rapist in public. Imagine the after effect of they're doing on their victims. They destroyed the life of them not only them but their family as well. IMO. Once a rapist will always be a rapist.

Yes... rapists (especially the child rapists) have one of the worst re-offending rates). Unfortunately, the law is not effective in dealing with them. Even if they are convicted, they will spend 2-3 years in jail and then get out and commit even more rapes.

Let the convicted and serial rapist be punished by being raped in turn by undesirable people, let them feel how their victims felt when they raped them. That you do if you cannot forgive them and you want revenge. But if you can forgive, then don't punish the rapist that way. Just let justice fall under the prescription of the law. Let the law and justice do it's thing. It's better that way.

I think the conventional ways would still work. If torture would be the punishment for rapists, they would be scared to commit the crime. I think the punishment for rape is too brutal a long time ago. It works well I think.

If am the i choose to all rapist on India is imprisoned for a lifetime. That is the best penalty to those rapist so that every rapist are afraid again to do it.

The death penalty should be applied only in those cases where the rapist is not just raped but also killed her. In other cases, it would be better to use the forced labor service with a lifetime allocate a portion of their earnings in favour of the victim.

I don't think that is enough to suffice the victim's trauma. I guess that term should be added by castration.

Death will be much easier for them. That was a perfect escape for the rapist's guilt. It should be something more tormenting that they will remember all those thing including the face of those they raped for the rest of their life

Rape is a very bad crime. The punishment for rapists has been prison, but I want the punishment to be a bit more severe for the rapists. If only prison, I'm afraid they are not deterrent, I'm afraid they do not change after getting out of jail. So maybe mental improvement should also be done as long as they are imprisoned.
