I totally agree with the death penalty for a rapist. Rape is a very cruel crime. The people who disagree with the death penalty on the basis of the human right to live. But damaging a woman, does not it violate human rights?

You need to remember a very important fact. Nowadays, the extreme left is only interested in the human rights of the criminals and the terrorists. They will defend a rapist who violated a 12-year old girl. But they will never defend the 12-year old girl or console her. That's the way left-wing extremism works.

I also agree that punishment for the rapist should be death penalty only. There should be strict law for the rapist as we have seen many times that criminals have narrow space to escape due to flaws in the judiciary system.

Imagine what will happen if this proposal is implemented in countries such as South Africa. There are approx. 50,000 cases of reported rape every year in South Africa. If death penalty is made mandatory, then the population will decline by 1 million in two decades.

The best punishment for the rapist must be decided by the victim herself. Whether its a death penalty, life imprisonment, torture, walk of shame, forced marriage, etc...
As long as the victim is satisfied there should be no question to that.

I don't think that the victim is a right person to decide what's punishment should be given to the suspect. We don't have to put the law in our hands. There are right person who's in the right position to do that.

I do not know how will the victims lead their life after such incident has happen in their life. In some countries, the rapists are let off freely if they marry the victim. A rape is one of the worst things you can do to another human being. I would never show any mercy to those who commit it, because my sense of privacy is high and I hate when someone crosses my border. Those people with their horrible guilt didn't show any respect to the other person, so they shouldn't be respected nowhere. Especially because you don't know how vulnerable was the victim and how much it destroys his/her life.

I think that death sentence is too much even in such a dramatic situation...and solution to this problem can be different in different situatiins.....anyway I am of thouse who dont want such a situation to happen....all i can do now it\s  just  to hold the immaculate vision that this will be changed very soon

If the death penalty is applied to a rapist, then a rape case will not happen that much. There will be a reduction in the number of cases of rape. Laws are also made to suppress the number of crimes, the death penalty aims to avoid crimes, not to kill the population.

If someone rape a person, He should be punish into death sentence. It maybe a cruel law but for sure it will be effective. Many will get fear about it. No one will attempt to do that as well too, that's my suggestion only.

Rapist should suffer more; they need to get in jail first before to their death.

Do I think that a rapist should marry the victim? No, that's insanely dumb and is just going to lead to a horrible marriage. Do I think they should me killed in some sort of way, yes I do. Can I even come close to thinking about the best way for these people to be murdered, no that's not something that I've given much though to.

Though I do think they should experience some sort of pain with there death, though I guess I just don't have the imagination to be able to muster something like that up.

Hanging is good, though it sounds like one of the more outdated ones when it comes to modern day punishments -- we can do better!

These replies sound like the Democrat party who must act like they are very anti rape to get the support of women but they secretly don't really care about protecting people from rape at all.

As usual, almost every reply is from more penis choppers who talk about how the rapist should have a curel punishment or be killed, but nobody considers situations where the rapist may be innocent, nor does anyone talk about any financial compensation to the victim.

Rape actually happens because this person cant control his mind and that person usually never or does not understand about masturbation. It's better to masturbate or hire commercial sex workers instead of raping people.
