I think there should be a strict law and punishment for such crimes, if government wish to reduce such instances. There should be a fear among the people before committing such cowardly crimes.

I'm in favor of Death Sentence.  If the punishment for that crime is only about 5-10 years in prison.  They will going to do it and more people will have the desire doing it also because the punishment will only take then years of imprisonment.

Death sentence will not stop rapists and the future rapists from doing it.  Even kids nowadays raped their girl playmates. Unless your government is so strict about implementing laws in their jurisdiction.

In India for the past few years there are many rape incidents happen and there are no safely young women in this country. The rapists are not even punished and are left freely. I do not know how will the victims lead their life after such incident has happen in their life. In some countries, the rapists are let off freely if they marry the victim. In some countries, the rapists are given death sentence.

According to you, what can be the best punishment for these rapists so that no one else should think of raping a women. I like the punishment which is given in most of the Muslim countries - hanged to death in public. Do you think that this is fair or they should marry the victim???

The punishment for rapists is not perfect in many of the Muslim nations. If you have money and power, then the law will not touch you. Have you heard about the Saudi cleric who raped and killed his own daughter? He was let off after serving only a few months in prison. Here is the link to the story:

I have been convinced that to punish rapists so that they then never wanted to rape. You can also deal with them as they are with their victims. Only by using mechanical devices.

I strongly believe that rapist should be punished by death sentence. Purity and virginity is the greatest gift that any woman can present to her husband. Anyone who tries to steal it is a selfish and self centered being. Women should be treated with utmost repect just like hpw you treat your mother and or your sister. Rape should not be tolerated! You'd got it   I also want that the act of rape should be given a death sentence.  I'm not in favor of years of imprisonment or marrying the victim after raping them.  Who would want that. You have mention that after raping the victim they will also kill them.  This happened so many times.  So death sentence should be given to those rapist.

Did you think this through? They're already punished by death in places that have the death penalty due to the murder. Adding a death penalty for rape will really encourage the rapist to kill the rape victim to cover up the crime. I'm not saying it's bad, but it sounds like you're contradicting yourself. With a rape death penalty there would be fewer cases of rape but a larger number of rapes that end with murder.

I still haven't seen anyone caring much for the victim. It's all Internet tough guys saying let's kill the rapist or chop his penis or such. How about letting the victim decide what is to be done to the rapist? A large fine should be paid out to the victim. This punishes the rapist and helps the victim. A few years in jail (sex offenders get their sentences reduced, drug deals don't) doesn't really help that much.

I believe before we put such sunction to those who commit crimes like rape, there is a need to establish the fairness and credibility of the court itself. In any country around the world we cannot deny the fact that some of the prisoners are innocent and the real culprit is a free man.
Back to the main concern, rapist should recieve the highest possible sunction that one government allow whether it is death or lifetime imprisonment. Rape is a rape, you almost get the life of the victim from the time you do it until the end. It will never change the fact that you created a lifetime nightmare to that person.  Its not diffrent to a murderer who just took life in a click, therefore both of this crimes should recieve the highest sunction.

Yea, I agree to that punishment. Death should be the penalty on rapist especially for those who raped minors or under age. These rapist are so confident to rape again and again because if they get caught they could bail and freed again, some incidents that a girl or woman would be killed after they are being raped so that these rapist wouldn't get caught for that incident he did. So a death penalty should be the punishment for that rapist.

I have watched game of thrones and I think it would be great if they would still have those kinds of punishments for people who will commit heinous crimes specially rape. I think committing such crime is unforgivable. Imagine it's not just pride, self respect, self worth but the life it self of the victim is ruined.

Both to me seem equally wrong. I dont think many humans deserve the death sentence and yet being allowed to marry your victim is beyond weird to say the least. I think

an in between solution works fine like a jail sentence or monetary payout. However, being persecuted of a fake rape can ruin ones lives as well. Now I am not going to say it is bad

as rape but it certainly should not be taken lightly either
