DonBit, great work. Can you please find some time and post a step-by-step tutorial of your specific settings? I think I seem to be missing something because I am almost there, but not quite. Thanks!

Check out DonBit's post right before yours. Detailed step by step at Overclocker credits to hellm.

After applying the .reg and after rebooting you must go in wattman and click reset. Then click manual voltage settings and then click apply. Next to got HBCC slider. If it's on, turn off, turn on again, slide to the max and apply.

Also note line 3, where I have 0001 is my board number as seen by Windows. Your Windows might have assigned a different number so you have to change it accordingly.

Detailed info and source here http://www.overclock.net/t/1633446/preliminary-view-of-amd-vega-bios/250#post_26297003

Figured it out. Had to apply the 900mV to all P-States starting from P2. Not just only P4 to P7.

There's one thing I haven't understood yet...
These regedit changes are for Vega64 only, or they also improve the Vega56 above the 1850H/s from wattman alone?

I'm unsure if I should stop the miner or not to try that out Smiley
Worst case scenario I end with my wattman problems when one gpu decides to reset to default values, but I wonder if with 64 bios and the same vega 64 values the V56 can also reach stable >1900s

I am interested to see if any of your vega 56s will make your system not boot(after registry edit), like it does to some of use unlucky ones with vega 64s.

Flashed on Vega 56 and it booted and hashed but crashed after 3 minutes.

Flashed on 4 other Vega 64 and they have been running with no issues 1408/1100 900MV softplaymod

Thanks, that is good info! What do you think is the issue with our system not booting with certain vega 64s?

Have been able to squeeze 41.5 MH/s running single ETH in Claymore on a Vega 56 w/ flashed 64 BIOS.
Mem Clock @ 1040
Core voltage @ 900mV for P3-P7 States.

However what I find disturbing, as soon as I am setting individual maximum clock speeds for P1-P7, in some cases my windows won't boot, sometimes P7 disappears entirely(!) from Wattman or checking in OverdriveNTool. Anyone experiencing the same issues?

Here is my working config for 1/2 of my Vega 56ers:

Interestingly my second, basically identical card won't make it for more than two minutes.
Will have to play around a bit more to get a stable working config.

Guess we need some tool (utility) for reg-modding or this thread will be flooded with regfiles ))

And yes - putting random clock-values to P2-P5 states is not a good idea ))

If anyone has a working vega 56 softpowerplay config for monero they would be willing   to share, that would make me happy! Currently chugging along at 5900h/s with three 56+1 r1700 cpu at 670w at wall (ryzen around 500h/s). Vddc hovers around  1.025v with  stock registry -30 frequency -8pl pstate 7 min/max.

Im thinking  I can probably get the same results with lower vddc core voltage, thus lower power consumtion and temps?

A reg tool would be extremely helpful imo!

Also, has  anyone tried setting 56 memory voltage to 1350mv, does it work  without  bios mod? Would be nice to be able to run mem at 1100mhz  as I can do with 64 bios, but without voiding the warranty  by swapping bios (though I think  in the eu you can basically change software in your electronics without voiding warranty by law, it seems)

Im talking about changing 0xE42  (1250mv) to 0x546 (1350mv)

Thanks!

Only bios flash currently ... And don't mess with air-Vega64 bios ... go for Liquid one ))

Guys , how often does the XMR-STAK crash ,i am running single Vega 64 ,  i have both threads intensity  at 1600 , Temperature percentage and power target -20% , HBM@ stock , fan rpm 3000+ and still getting restart every 30-45 minutes .

That translates into
Core 1082
Memory 945
Temp 66C
Fan 67%
Hash-rate 1700

Why liquid one? What are the pros of using that instead of the air bios?

I have ~1900 H/s stable on RX Vega 56 and SoftPowerPlayTable mod. Same values for core as with RX Vega 64 SoftMod and 950MHz on Mem. RX Vega 56 SoftPowerPlayTable as a base.

This is for RX Vega 56.

VCore = 950mV

EDIT: Changed the VCore to 950mV. 900mV did not run stable on 2 of my 3 Cards.

Code:
"gpu_threads_conf" : [
{ "index" : 0, "intensity" : 2016, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false },
{ "index" : 0, "intensity" : 1600, "worksize" : 8, "affine_to_cpu" : false },
],

Not optimized jet. Just took the values I found in this thread.

Only bios flash currently ... And don't mess with air-Vega64 bios ... go for Liquid one ))

Why liquid one? What are the pros of using that instead of the air bios?

Don't want to type a lot ... just take your time and try different settings for your cards. Nobody has to do this work for you.

And yes ... this thread will be buried with this stupid big tables from newbies ... time to leave ...
