Hi everyone, newbie here looking for some help. Sorry to post here, I've registered on the DeepOnion forum but I'm still awaiting my confirmation email. If this is the wrong place, please ignore this!

I'm very interested in this project and hope to participate once I've earned the right and demonstrated my value to the community. I've run into a problem though - I can't get the wallet to sync. I've tried everything the FAQs suggest: deleting the appdata, pasting node addresses into a config file, allowing access through my firewall and even turning it off. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm on a Windows 10 laptop with just the Windows Defender firewall and I can connect to TOR normally, so I don't think it's a matter of my service provider blocking it. Are there any ports I could forward? Anything else I can do?

Regarding your confirmation email: try a adress from gmail hotmail or yahoo then you should get the mail within minutes.
Other providers are causing problems as far as i know.

There is a tutorial here. After you set up everything, you need to wait for a while before the wallet starts syncing. You can see the progress bar.

i think there should be no problem for registering in deeponion.org.  it's the airdrop registration that may take quite awhile.

regarding wallet syncing, try to update the conf file, update the addnodes parameters.  by the way, are you residing in china where firewall is implemented?

Yeah, make sure the config file is named properly, and is located in your %appdata% folder - unless you're in China, chances are the ISP is not blocking it.

I hope that devs will move the date a bit further in the future.

There are many people like you. I am almost sure they will move the date in the future but while you can't

How did you hear about DO if you don't mind me asking? You've joined BCT today after all, so you must've heard of DO somewhere else to buy so early?

Either way, the date will most likely be pushed back again at some point. Would be quite surprising if not.

Yeah, make sure the config file is named properly, and is located in your %appdata% folder - unless you're in China, chances are the ISP is not blocking it.

I had the same problem on first use. I updated the .CONF file and also enabled the application on my Firewall. Try using the MEGA file download link and installing again.

yes, you are free to transfer all your faucet earnings to other wallets.  only airdrop coins matter to the airdrop checking bot.  once you're airdrop receipient already, be sure to use wallet coin control feature to make sure airdrop coins do not accidentally transfer to a new address.
