This thread is full of idiots who wants to lose money.

I have bitcoin in my bitcoin-qt wallet.
What do I have to do to get BCC?
There is no BCH until they actually mine a block. This altcoin will be dumped to the ground.

Bitcoincash 1st block https://pool.viabtc.com

wrong, block hash points to 000000000000000000f5c8936e44c8eacb973e26c480f4d1065bba44aead4976 which is 2 days old block/250 confirms/ with height 478,321

If ViaBTC is the only pool of consequence mining, and they have 127 PHs, then the probability (at the current difficulty) is that they'll find a block within 8 hours.

There's also rules in BCH that will reduce the difficulty mid-adjustment period. Maybe an expert (not me) can comment on what circumstances are needed to reduce the difficulty before the next adjustment.

Bitcoincash 1st block https://pool.viabtc.com

I guess it is block: 478558

the last common block. There is no bitcoin cash block yet.
getting curious how this will happen after they find a block i only got small amount of btc from my desktop wallet and im waiting for some great news
on how and if there's already bcc that can be seen inside the wallet or whatever options that can give me free bch coin.

There's also rules in BCH that will reduce the difficulty mid-adjustment period. Maybe an expert (not me) can comment on what circumstances are needed to reduce the difficulty before the next adjustment.

Here it is:

Quote
REQ-7 Difficulty adjustement in case of hashrate drop

In case the MTP of the tip of the chain is 12h or more after the MTP 6 block before the tip, the proof of work target is increased by a quarter, or 25%, which corresponds to a difficulty reduction of 20% .

RATIONALE: The hashrate supporting the chain is dependent on market price and hard to predict. In order to make sure the chain remains viable no matter what difficulty needs to adjust down in case of abrupt hashrate drop.

ViaBTC says the total network hash is equal between BCC and BTC.

https://pool.viabtc.com

But statistically, this certainly cannot be.

Why anyone would publish such verifiably false information as this is utterly beyond my comprehension.

If you want to keep monitoring the situation here it is the link to keep eye on: https://www.btcforkmonitor.info/ . Since forked has happened Bitcoin's main chain is ahead of 12 blocks than BCC which is clear seen able. It is all due to not having enough hash to generate first block for BCC. Let's see how long it will take.

I would say it's merely a legacy of the pre-fork hashrate. No one can determine the network hashrate before blocks actually get mined.

That being said, assuming ViaBTC is the only significant BCash pool, we probably won't see blocks before several more hours.

Because the hashrate will be calculated based on bitcoin BEFORE the split.  Hashrate is calculated based on block time and difficulty, so not enough blocks have been mined therefore the old number is used until there is enough data to update.

With Bitcoin, hashrates do not increase or decrease by orders of magnitude over periods of seconds or minutes. If the info is "legacy" info, it is definitely still flawed.

That is the whole pint dude it may it shouldn't and so on. I said it must or must not. And i am trying to warn people who do not have a clue what is going on. I started gently first then not so gently with some irony not to TRUST THIS COMPLETELY UNTESTED SHIT SPONSORED BY CHINESE

block chair showing a fair few blocks found.

The site is rekt and no block has been relayed to nodes yet.
EDIT: when it's working, the site is just showing blocks up to height 478557 so... nope, you're wrong.

With Bitcoin, hashrates do not increase or decrease by orders of magnitude over periods of seconds or minutes. If the info is "legacy" info, it is definitely still flawed.

Of course it's flawed. You are so vehemently defending your point, you should learn to take yes for an answer Wink

Is it correct to say that people moving their BTC before the first block is mined on the new chain loses their BCC/BCH for the private key where it was moved from?

Not one single sentence you typed correctly, reducing yourself to the level of a second-grader (7 year old), yet you have the audacity to call others "brainless idiots". A hilarious example of self-ridicule.

My list of 43(+3) reviewed Bitcoin forks | You don't have to download the pre-fork blockchain again for each fork! | Beware of fraudulent AWS accounts sellers and dangerous edu AWS codes! + My personal list of legit sellers and scammers | Never publicly reveal your btc addresses, ownership or any other details and stay very far away from anybody who asks you to! | The general rule of safe buying is: if the seller is a newbie, with no reputation, with no topic nor trust feedback, offering no vouches and/or selling from a locked or self-moderated topic and unwilling to go first or use escrow => AVOID. Always check the trust feedback first and make sure that you have enabled "Show untrusted feedback by default" in "Profile / Forum Profile Information".
