Best and logical way to deal with upcoming situation is to keep holding your both coins for a while. It will not be wise move at all to dump and move on. I will long on for this as well though it is purely an altcoin but receiving free doesn't mean to dump quickly. It is recommended to not hurry before letting the network become stable.
Well if everyone is dumping there is no point in holding on to the free coins, as there wont be any buyers for the coin.
Just speculation.
You can not foresee the future.
Some will sell other keep it and thats it.
There are a lot of people here hoping on dump to get a bigger share or true BitBelievers hoping this august  1st is a non event and BCC fork crashed @ first block created.

i have a question, can any wallet that i now empty but had bitcoin balance before, be swapped with bitcoin cash, to get oen of one? i have an old wallet with zero bitcoin now, but with many transactions in the past, laying around, and iw ant to redeem bitcoin cash, it's possible?

Lol no, whatever you holding going into the fork is what you can claim.

why no? what's the difference between a wallet that is new before the fork now and a old wallet, that both are empty? i'll not claim bcc with a full wallet, i just import a empty private key that had btc in it, and what you mean going into the fork? every wallet is going into the fork

Exactly, this is my plan too. I will send my Bitcoins to new address to make sure everything is good. Once it will be confirmed then use those private keys to claim my BCC though it is protected against replay attack but we are responsible for our own security.

Hello OP or any knowledgeable user here about BCC. If I keep my BTC to a BCC capable wallet. Will I received equivalent BCC there? How too confuse regarding this matter. Will my money get double because BCC will have a price also? Thanks in advance for answering.

Yes, every wallet is going into the fork.  And the empty wallets will be empty.  And the wallets with bitcoins in them will have both BCH and BTC.

Exactly, this is my plan too. I will send my Bitcoins to new address to make sure everything is good. Once it will be confirmed then use those private keys to claim my BCC though it is protected against replay attack but we are responsible for our own security.

Yes, this is good strategy.  To be clear, this only works if you move your bitcoins after the fork starts, not before.

Every "BCC-capable" wallet I've seen so far is simply a Bitcoin Cash wallet and does not handle BTC.  Be careful! there is a real risk that someone will put out a "Bitcoin Cash wallet" to learn your private keys and steal your BTC.

One idea is to move your bitcoins (say 12 bitcoins) to an address (say 1abc...) you control (you have the private key or mnemonic seed), wait until the blockchain forks, and then send all 12 bitcoins normally to some other address of yours (say 1def...).  Once the bitcoins are safely at 1def... you can give the 1abc... private key to a Bitcoin Cash wallet and it will find 12 BCH at your 1abc... address, ready to send.

If you start with 12 bitcoins (under your control) then, after the fork, you will have 12 BCH and 12 BTC.  If your bitcoins are on an exchange or in some bank-like online wallet then you may or may not receive any BCH (ask your provider to issue a statement regarding BCH).

Your money will not really double.  You will have twice as many coins but those coins will be worth less than the coins you had before the fork.

You are worried for nothing. There is no split of chain anymore like it was supposed to be before. That issue has been resolved. This upcoming fork will directly into ledger not into chain that means all the data will be written of original chain Bitcoin and its fork BCC(BCH). Everyone will get just like ETH and ETC if you are familiar with that case.

Found something:

Quote
The fork block is the first block connected to a block with MTP of 2017 Aug 1 12:20 UTC.
MTP is the median timestamp of the 11 blocks leading up to and including that prior block.
It's likely, but assured, that the fork block will happen later than 12:20 wall clock time, because MTP generally lags the wall clock by an hour or so.
Reorgs are also possible.

oh now i understand, so only the wallet that are full after the fork can claim even if they are empty afterward, it make sense now, so i don't have to move on exchange to claim right? i can calim at any time as long as my wallet hold btc after the fork? even within one year?

The "Bitcoin Cash" Coins are a copy of your existing BTC coins on the "new" BCC Blockchain. So, if you have access to your private key you can claim them as long the network is alive. You dont have to do anything now.

But, as written above - take care about your Bitcoin, when you claim your BCC.

Yes.  Even after a year.

You're not really claiming BCH.  Instead, it's more like you already have BCH.  Until the fork actually happens, "Bitcoin Cash" and "Bitcoin" are essentially just different names for the same thing.

Another way to understand this:  Today, every bitcoin is actually 1 BTC and 1 BCH stuck together.  When you send a bitcoin you're actually sending 1 BTC and 1 BCH at the same time.  If you have 18 BTC in your wallet right now then you also have 18 BCH in the same wallet right now, it's just that your wallet doesn't display them.  At the fork, we will all be able to separate our BTC and BCH, but the tools are all fairly new and little tested.

As I understand it (and I could easily be wrong here), the first block will likely be even further delayed because only a small fraction of Bitcoin's hashrate will attempt to build the Bitcoin Cash branch.

Also, props for trying to dig through the Bitcoin ABC source.  If you're still curious, the relevant parts are the start time constant, the Median Time Past comparison, and the definition of Median Time Past.

Should anyone knows what will be the price (prediction) for Bitcoin cash ?

Futures market says $100-$400. I anticipate heavy selling so could be in the lower range.

why should someone buy a free coin for $ 100-400? Wink
I hope to get $ 10 if i can dump fast enough (but i guess there are larger btc-owners who will dump with automatic software much faster).
