I have studied the past yearly rapport of Alphabet inc (google), Their buseniss model is based mostly on advertisement. About 90% income is through that and they are expecting massive growth in this field. The expectation of growth is not because they think they will get more users. But the way they are paid are Pay Per view (PPV) and Pay per click (PPC). When data analyse algorithms get better, they can market their visitors better so they will click more on adds. If Datum can prevent this it would be HUGE! Even if they can take some power away from google in this situation its already a win. Maybe google try to buyout datum in some time later, and if something like that happens I can't imagine what will happen to the price of tokens Haha, Google does not need to buy data from anyone, because it has all information, even the favorite of anyone used Google in the past. Google does not only track through data normal, it still can track through Google Chrome, Google Seach and any product from Google, ... You can reseach more detail about this issue on Google Seach

It's hardly a secret, you have all the bounty threads for each project for all to see. I frankly doubt anyone with 2 functioning brain cells doesn't notice this since you land on bitcointalk. Personally, I don't like it, but I understand in many countries the rewards for bounties translate into nice sums of money. It's mostly from those countries I guess where people decide to shill or bountyhunt for projects. I've posted a couple times about it, just to show some examples of how bad this has become on many threads, were people don't even bother to change a bit complete paragraphs from cryptosites online talking about a project. It happens too that many times you cant even follow the "logic" behind certain posts nor even the language which is often so incomprehensible you have to "backtranslate" mentally what the guy was trying to say haha. In my opinion often the organized and so transparent shilling doesn't benefit a project. It may be good to draw some attention to it but if it's all artificial it wont really benefit from it either. I personally started to doubt about some I was in after reading the tons and tons of copy/pasted opinions from one project to the other and a kind of shilling that almost seems a bad joke....so I can understand your frustration. Now I think a project CAN be good even if there is organized shilling mostly because all projects seems to have it anyway. At the end of the day it's just a "little" (from our perspective) income for some people who might be in countries with economic problems... I'm in Datum since before the summer and have recently noticed a big wave of newcomers to the project which I welcome but I understand many will disappear once their bounty obligations end, and that's how it is... The ones who like the project for it's fundamentals will stay

In Datum people can sell more personal information, and more detailed, because they will be paid for it. This is the difference. In the quality and accuracy of the data. Well, maybe I'm not right, but my opinion is.

They give good bonus in Pre-Sale. I invested a bit. I think this project is not a perfect project but I believe they can do some good jobs. Lets see what they will do with the money collected the ICO.
Yes the 50% during the pre-sale was huge, lucky you that you participated. Too bad for me that I totally missed it, will have to wait for the main-ICO. Which bonus will ne on main ICO? For first days may be? I don't think there will be a bonus, doesn't sat anywhere. Or maybe they will announce it later. Roger Haenni said on Telegram that in the public sale they will start with a bonus of ~15%. Not the 90% they offered at the start of the pre-sale but still a nice incentive for early investors in the ICO.

I hear what you're saying, but in a ICO bubble like this one, companies need all the exposure they can get. Paying slackmembers in DAT is nothing more than paying bounty rewards IMO. Some of those people try to get as much posts as possible no matter how shitty the quality is, others genuinly care and believe in the project they're supporting. I believe in Datum, and I dont think its a scam. I do however respect your research and opinion

The biggest bonus is now available on the secondary market. 90% of ICO start trading with a price of 100, 200, 300 and more % lower then initial price. I do not think that this could specifically refer to this project, but on the whole, the interest to keep diverse assets in portfolio has decreased noticeably.

Even with less bonus, I think that the ico will be a great sucess, so much argument to succeed. Datum can disrupt the data market, and will offer us a big platform to understand this economy. I’m impatient to try it, and impatient to see the start of the ico.

Have to admit, screenshot of Datum Dashboard looks neat. And I like that they support IoT devices, so the have a plan B in case fighting the social media tyranny does not quite work out. Although I am not sure how users are going to monetize sensor data.

A few weeks ago when I saw Datum for the first time through the Gleam.io giveaway, I did not have such a good feeling. It is so contradictory, a project related to personal information claiming to give control over your data at the same time collecting and potentially selling your data through a 3rd party site. It seemed like a joke.
But the latest news posts and screenshots raises my perception and respect for Datum a little bit.
