That's a good question. At the moment I just thought about grabbing data from your smartphone which you could easy control by the app. But a  lot of people also use PCs for example where also a lot of data will be generated. For example I rarely use google on my smartphone because for regular internet activities I still use my laptop.

I guess people are starting to have enaugh of big corporations reaping all the profits for their browsing data.

Can I still use the app without having any datum tokens? and then I just make some tokens by selling my data?

The expectation of growth is not because they think they will get more users. But the way they are paid are Pay Per view (PPV) and Pay per click (PPC). When data analyse algorithms get better, they can market
their visitors better so they will click more on adds.

If Datum can prevent this it would be HUGE! Even if they can take some power away from google in this situation its already a win.

Haha, Google does not need to buy data from anyone, because it has all information, even the favorite of anyone used Google in the past. Google does not only track through data normal, it still can track through Google Chrome, Google Seach and any product from Google, ... You can reseach more detail about this issue on Google Seach

No, you understood him wrong. Google may buy datum not because they want to buy the datum data. They may buy because Datum could be a competitor. Its a standard strategy from big companies, buy competitors before they are getting big themself

I quite agree with your opinion, everything can happen. Google was just a small project when Yahoo was a big Company. Yahoo had refused to buy Google with a little amount of money. And now, everyone can see what happened.

But googles greatest power is to collect data through your search history etc, or am I wrong? As long as most people use google as the main search engine google will lose no power at all.

If google gets threatened it will buy out datum, it won't start buying its product. If that happens prices might shoot up big time

In one of the videos on youtube, I actually heard people speculating that this might be a possibility.

Honestly, if Google and Facebook can gets threatened by someone, I never think Google and Facebook are largest advertisers on the world at now. Datum can compete with Google and Facebook in future, but want to make Google buy data from Datum, I think it never happen.

I still can't believe that this project is being so long and hasn't finished yet, other projects have been just at most 2 months between marketing and ICO, this one has been here like 4, I even though it was finished, but not its still here, and bigger than ever, I really hope you success .

I still can't believe that this project is being so long and hasn't finished yet, other projects have been just at most 2 months between marketing and ICO, this one has been here like 4, I even though it was finished, but not its still here, and bigger than ever, I really hope you success .

It's a complicated project. for my money it's good that it's taking so long. means the devs care enough to release a good product. other ICO's just put a pre-alpha mess out there and beg for money.

I am certain that is the result of a giveaway promotion that is going on for weeks. I think they managed to make a good balance between airdrop and promotion, the amount shouldnt be that big to influence the price after it gets listed on exchange.
