Hi guys, sorry for my question. I own some NEO on the exchanger but I'm looking for a way to store them somewhere for long term. Which is the safest one?

Me too - the best thing is to stake your neo in the neon wallet and receive free gas - unfortunately the neo website won't load atm.

Can someone tell me do you need the neon wallet open all the time to receive your gas?

You do not need to keep any of your NEO wallets open at all to receive GAS. You can stay offline for any number of years, come back later and claim all generated GAS over that time period if you would want to. Owning NEO and storing it at an address of your own is enough to entitle you to the generation of GAS. The specialised bookkeeping nodes will keep the NEO network running. Keeping NEO at Binance or Kucoin will also entitle NEO holders to GAS, but not if held at other exchanges currently. Keep in mind though that generally holding any cryptocurrency at an exchange is the least safe option available.

The safest way to store your NEO would likely involve the hardware wallet called Nano Ledger S. NEO support for the Nano Ledger S is almost entirely in place, but I would wait for confirmations for that. The next hardware wallet that will have NEO support is Ledger Blue (if you are willing to wait longer and do not mind the price tag).

What you can also do is ensure you leave no wallet files or private keys on your computer (but make backups that are not connected to the internet) and ensure you have a good anti-virus program and anti-malware program which can be something like Avast, Malwarebytes and HitmanPro to ensure there is no malicious software on your computer.

Good! Thank you so much for your reply. Very clear, i will do as you said

Neon.Setup.0.0.7.Windows.exe. Why no support for Neon wallet for windows 32 bit ?

It seems that bugs which are becoming highly costly for users in Ethereum are providing very good opportunity to NEO to come and replace that smart contracts which are still to be discovered bug inside of those. NEO is getting advanced while its only competitor Ethereum is facing in short interval of times bug and errors issues.

This is going to be great for NEO, I guess it's time to buy some more NEO before it hits Okex and the price goes up.
One other thing that Okex have said in the announcement is that they are having a "giveaway", I wonder what they are giving away ?

Nice to have held onto my NEO as SegWit2x has been cancelled, look at the altcoins rise, including NEO. Better stock up on NEO now whilst it's still low.

WOW ! I mean WOW ! SegWit2x futures (B2X) were trading on HitBTC for about 0.2 BTC now they are down to 0.03 BTC !

https://ledger.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005530425-How-to-install-and-use-Neo-NEO-

How to install and use Neo (NEO) ?

November 08, 2017 21:58 Updated

The Ledger Nano S and The Ledger Bue manage Neo (NEO) tokens. It works on Windows (7+), Mac (10.8+), Linux or Chrome OS. It requires Google Chrome or Chromium, and one USB port to plug your Ledger Nano S or your Blue. Note that it doesn't work on Android and iOS.

If you have a Nano S, it must be updated to 1.3.1 firmware at least.

The Nano and the HW.1 don't support Neo.

Is the price of NEO rising because of the cancelled fork or because of the announced listing on Okex on the 10th tomorrow (https://support.okex.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002632611-OKEx-List-QTUM-HSR-NEO-GAS)?

Or both?

First of all it's rising because of the called of fork like most of all other Altcoins are as money is coming back into ALTs from Bitcoin now, hopefully not ending soon. But also hope the price will rise more when it's listed in OKEX and maybe other Korean Exchanges.

Seems GAS is again trying to overtake NEO in price, in market cap would be more great Cheesy By the way, there is no separate GAS Bitcointalk Thread?

Any expectations fro GAS price? Palm Beach report said something like Buy till 30 USD, not much more to go to get there now.

Hey guys, one question, maybe you've heard from the parity security bug where ETH worth of Millions of $ are frozen now. If I use the NEON wallet with my Ledger Nano S, is something similar theoretically possible?

I think we are starting a bullish run because of the news that came yesterday, and I think NEO will be one of the winners.

Yes, but only with the NEON wallet, not the official GUI NEO wallet, at least yet.

You have to go to "transfer". Then select asset and chose "neo". Then put in your neo wallet adress at receiver. You can find the adress of your wallet by clicking on "receive". and then put in the value of your wallet and click on "confirm transfer". Then it will show a confirmation in chinese. click on the screen and after 1 or two blocks you can find on the claim site the available gas and you can claim it Wink
