Bitcoin is as secure as you make it. If you fail to take proper security precautions then you can kiss your Bitcoin goodbye eventually. It is only a matter of time. Don't believe me? Ask anyone who had Bitcoin from 2010 if they have been hacked/scammed I think over 50% would say yes... Shocked

I strongly agree that, Bitcoin is as secure as you make it. If you fail to take proper security precautions then you can kiss your Bitcoin goodbye eventually. It is only a matter of time. Adding also my opinion that, Bitcoin security depends on ourselves,So we must always be vigilant in keeping our account so hackers do not steal it,   my friend there who lost bitcoin it all because of carelessness, so the point is safe bitcoin as long as we are good at keeping. In addition, There is an important distinction between the security of the Bitcoin blockchain and the security of personal wallets. The blockchain is secure as long as nobody finds a way to hack the SHA-256 hash function, which is considered very solid.

Yes, I really think it is very secure and safe. But don't be careless always. And Bitcoin is one of the most secure and popular digital currency, we don't need to be scared.

I use 2FA for my wallet. so i don't see the viability of hackers gaining access.

Hello pals,
Recently I introduced Bitcoin and cryptocurrency to my friends and family, they liked the concept but they asked me a question that I wasn't able to answer. Is Bitcoin really secure? What if a hacker was able to hack Bitcoin system/blockchain?Who manages Bitcoin security and what are the security measures taken to avoid hackers being able to steal Bitcoins? Why Bitcoin is not blocked for those who use it illegally by buying/selling in the deepweb market? What if governements ban Bitcoin because of these people?
I really appreciate if you  guys give me some answers
maybe now my country security lies in ourselves because in my country has not been officially opened bitcoin so for the level of security has not existed and the maximum but if in other countries may have security is guaranteed

I am not going to write about blockchain security, becuase it is explained above. Regarding the security of the wallet, it is as safe as well you protect your password. The best solution is to use a hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor.

Bitcoin is really safe. Bitcoin's wallet is also safe. Bitcoin is safe so your wallet has to be protected from the hacker. Can provide a protective shield to your wallet, Hacker will not be able to hack.

When we say bitcoins most people minds come to their bitcoin wallets that they normally use, But when it comes to the bitcoin core network, it is without doubt one of the most secure network or systems currently in the  world.

Bitcoin is secure, but , if you deposit bitcoin on online account, it still has the risk.
The safest way is save it in cold hardware wallet.

Currently, wallets and exchanges have their own security that other people or hackers can not easily overcome. To ensure your btc, you should set these security settings and then make sure your btc is secure. If btc is easy to steal, perhaps in the past 7 years, when big price fluctuations are occurring, then a large amount of btc  had been stolen and moved to a hacker's address. But it did not happen.

To date, BTC is still regarded as the safest virtual currency. BTC is not safe when no one is investing in it anymore Smiley

Why people always say that bitcoin investment is too risky and its security is not guaranteed? I think it is clear that all kinds of investments must have risks. Instead, I think that bitcoin is the safest digital currency to invest because of the closed identity of a bitcoin user.

I think Bitcoin is secure as its tech has proven itself over the years. So far nobody on the globe was able to crack the cryptographic encryption. I read that there is a possibility that it will be broken when quantum computing becomes a reality, but I think that this is still far away, so for now, I believe that Bitcoin is secure.

The weakness of Bitcoin is, as with so many other things as well, the human using it. If we dont protect our private keys, we put ourselves in danger of loosing our BTC. So dont try to save some bucks when it comes to security!
Bitcoin as a core technology is secure and it is not possible to crack the cryptographic encryption with the computer resources we have now but in future with advancement in quantum computing it might be possible but we might upgrade to far better encryption by that time, the only issue we have is the wallet we are storing our coins, recently we found a critical flaw in one of the major wallet electrum ,where it leaked all your private keys, these sort of flaws is fatal and i am glad the flaw is sorted out when it is identified .

I don't know about Bitcoin but the exchanges are definitely not secure.

Even Coinbase has been known for defrauding customers. I did an ACH transfer to Coinbase in the amount of $1,000 from my bank in California but they never credited my Coinbase account. They claim to be insured by the FDIC on their website so I felt safe sending them money. Now I regret it. Fortunately I am in the US so I have a very good chance of getting my money back by filing a complaint with my bank and the CFPB. You could also file complaint with the FDIC. But make sure you don't wait too long to do it. If you are outside the US you may have no hope of ever seeing your money again.

Do a Google search for "Coinbase fraud" or "Coinbase scam" there are literally hundreds of complaints about missing money on Coinbase. The main complaints center around ACH transfers but also with a lot people not being able to withdraw their money from Coinbase or GDAX with support being totally unresponsive. These people are shady as hell.

Hi everyone, i know this is an unusual post but is one of the last chanses to save a little girl life. You can find her story at https://www.caritate.md/en/donations/from-the-heart-to-amelia-morari
She only needs the value of 3 bitcoins to make the surgery , if 3000 people would donate 0.001 bitcoin, the value for a fee, her life can be saved. Thank you

Yes, Bitcoin is secured to where you store in your online wallet as long as your wallet has high security features like 2 factor authentication or Google authentication to prevent suspicious activities from other people who attempt to access your account.

On my own point of view I think bitcoin is secure depending on how you use it.If you will go into gambling and trading it is really high risk and their is a possibility that you will lose all your bitcoin but if your lucky then youll be able to earn big.But if you will just keep your bitcoin in your btc wallet and dont share your password to anysite and anyone then youll be able to assure that your bitcoin will be secure.

I think bitcoin is very secure but  my concern is with exchanges wallet. Exchanges can hacked like mtGox, more safe use cold wallet (Trezor.io, Ledger Nano S and KeepKey). Save your private key in the safest place and guarantee only you or the people you can trusted have permission to know this key.
