You can cut a hole if you are worried about your money but I advise you to keep it and maybe you should buy more because it will probably come back in a short time.

Prices are falling, ignore it make you’re self-busy. If you are a better investor don’t panic, A reasonable investor before they enter that business they have a trust, believe on it, so what happened they are ready. They hold and study the chart before takes action what will do or what will be the next step.

Your portfolio has such a good project for future , and you better hold on it , nowadays people starting to get more interested in Bitcoin and, you better invest more if you can afford to it , and wait till the price rising again.

Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).

I suggest you to hold and not panic when these things happen, I don't manage millions but take care of my hard earned money.

Nothing to do and the thing you have to do is don't just panic in that condition stay cool and just wait for the right time.  Due to unexpected fall down of  value I was scared to hold it for long period of time, maybe I just hold my  if this coin are become stable in the market. Moreover, sometimes I always need cash to support the needed of my family and I get some of them from to buy stuff needed of my kids. Unfortunately I plan also to save some of my income for the future value of .

When bitcoin is falling and you have funds then invest again and hold your remaining btc. Dont get scared about the fall since it is only a little fall and it will climb up again. Many people are scared when they see bitcoin fall and they panic to sell their bitcoin. At the end of the day when bitcoin price climb up they will regret what they have done instead of holding their bitcoin. In vesting in bitcoin need a lot of guts in order for you to succeed in your investments.

If the price goes down, do not panic selling because later we will lose. try to hold back when the price again falls and wait till the price goes back up ...

- The best thing I think is that we should analyze the cause behind it, why prices fall, we need to find the answer to this question, we should not decide to cut losses or buy more immediately, that is too hasty and we can fall into unnecessary mistakes. If we are really too anxious, we will need to do something to relax and help our mood return to equilibrium, trading is a psychological game, our psychology fluctuate too large, we will make more mistakes, the failure rate is also higher. In short, keep calm, find the cause and then decide, that's what to do when the price drops

Last month of September, we experience the issue about hardfork and that made us all panic due to its effect of dumping price of bitcoins. After the hardfork issue, I realized that we should not panic too much and do not jumped to the conclusion of selling all your coins because its just part of digital currencies challenges. However, since it was all in the past then maybe some of us believed that bitcoin will not crash in the future but might experience dump and pump again. Analyzing the data is a better way to be aware what is happening to bitcoin world.

indeee, dont be panic when the price fall. uncertainty regarding the future outcomes is the biggest reason for not holding the coins, The most loss of investors of gains is investing on scams coins or selling too early on promising projects, Then boom, out of a sudden news leak on reddit and the price hikes basically overnight. Since you cant timing this, it can be a good strategy to simply say "find a coin you believe in and just hold it for at least several months, it may not go up immediately, but in the longterm you will be happy". keep learning from mistake.

You can do speculation,  but if your coins are good coins like ethereum or litecoin, better to hold it longer. Because they are potentially can be good investments. i think to do speculation and don't panic, try to analyze and make your decision, if the coins has bad history price,  then sell it is a good choice to avoid the loss and dump.

what do you think about low market cap alcoins? what are they gonna do when BTC price will be falling even more?

don't panic, lots of trader tent to sell their coins if they see that bitcoin is continue decreasing its price. if you enter to the world of trading, you should learn how to take a risk, some traders become billionaire because of taking a risk. they let their coins on their wallet even though bitcoin price is falling down, as a matter of fact lots of traders take the opportunity to buy a lot of bitcoin, because they knew that in the end it would be a profitable one in the future.

It depends on your trading style. If you are a day trader, you can sell and buy back at a lower price. But if you are a long term trader you can hold it. Follow the trend. Sell only when you see that trend is changing. Hope it helps you.
You have told such an important thing here, go with the trend. I always advice others to be adaptive. They must be adaptive to the environment, the trends of market. There should be some fix strategies and plans that you must need to follow but don’t try to escape from these trends. These are the best ways to be smart and earn efficient amount of money from nothing.

Not all decrease in prices are good signals for buying more coins. Sometimes it can indicate that coin's bubble (this is the worst case scenario). It is better to be updated about that coin's activities to know when to buy more of it or stop investing.

There are 2 clear directions when the prices are falling.
1. Sell.
Sell specifically into what, who, where?
Do we sell it for alt coins only?

Where do we go to do this (without KYC hassles preferably)? I want to day trade too. Thanks.

I just chill and keep holding all of my coins. I've bought only at good prices.
I will do the same, when the value of Bitcoin is falling, I will not worry because I know it will increase soon. Thus, I will hold my Bitcoin and wait until the price increases again. And if the price increases again to my ideal value, I will sell it to gain high profit.

in my opinion to get you will always consider the price of dumping. this is our chance to trade in alt to buy a low price and sell a higher price again. this is very quick to get good results in trading.
and I will not sell my bitcoin for a low price, because I will lose a big profit. And I wait a few days will be the price will return to normal as at the time
