You must choose just big and trustable projects like ripple, ethereum or stellar, small projects most probably won't be in market few years later so you should consider all thing like this, but 2-3 years is very long time maybe you can shorten the time a little.

Do not say for holding long period or the 2-3 years or the short period. If you really want to earn with crypto then buy new coin and hold until it gives you the profit. I have seen here that every coin must make you benefit at least once and then if it drops then going on so. And finally it seems it will never wake up again. Then if you are holding this coin you will become frustrate and sell it for no penny. So, hold wisely. I suggest you hold only the Top10 coin otherwise nothing.

I will like to expect you to increase the number of tokens to around 10 in number, your choice should be adequately research. The period of hodling a token is irrelevant, what is important is when to take the profit at the peak of the price or value. Aside hodling altcoin if you can afford bitcoin let it be at least 20% of your portfolio, most especially while buying to ones portfolio in a bear market.
