While there are possibilities of online shopping sites accepting Bitcoin, there are also chances they may not opt to due to the following observations I have listed below:

a) Bitcoin prices are highly volatile. - This will make the merchants either gain so much with the increase in value of Bitcoins or it will make them lose so much by reason of the decrease in value of Bitcoins. This is a very risky feat to undertake for entrepreneurs because the value of Bitcoin does not necessarily correspond to the value of the item/items purchased by the consumers.

b) Bitcoin has chances of being hacked. - If this happens, merchants will lose what is due them at their (merchants') own risk since transacting with Bitcoin is not supported by most governments.
