So how does all relevant information end up in the blockchain? does the car owner have to report everything?

Vin is the main ID for the car.

The car owner doesn't have to report, the info will be written in the blockchain as car comes to the services (by car service), after some part is installed (by supply and by car service), also if the car is sold to somebody else, etc.

well, i think i am going to have an eye on this project now.

i am here since the start of the ann thread, there were many positive and negative questions/answers at the beginning, but many of them already got answered positively and i think this projects keeps up shaping more and more.

That is quite a puzzling article, at least for me as an outsider of the automotive warranty industry. How does it explain customers are overpaying for warranty due to poor dealer / repair shop management and processes?

I don't understand it too, however it's true that there's no trasparency about the spare parts market, as far as we know a repair shop can put in your car second handed spare parts and you can do nothing about it
