Someone must be getting ready to buy some of those jackets... 25k MEC buy just now on cryptsy! :O

The current price is certainly a great opportunity to take a position, or improve your supply of MΣC.  Wink I just figure if I'm going to buy something to wear, it may as well support Megacoin.  Grin

But seriously though, when is MEC going to be listed on another popular exchange? I can't believe it has been looked over by so many other exchanges.

Don't get me wrong, I love Cryptsy, but the lag recently has been unbearable and I think it's hurting the growth of some stellar coins like MEC.

Anyone else agree?

I also found a site that sells heavy cotton, fleece lined, zip front hoodies and they will do an embroidered Megacoin logo. If enough people want one it might be worth making a bulk order.

I'd definitely take a few -- let me know.

I have been talking to a rep at Branders.com, but plan on getting some quotes from other vendors. Currently the cost on the Hoodie is about $34 plus shipping with a minimum order of 12. I am also looking into some high quality winter jackets that compare to the North Face Denali. Cost on these looks to be about $120 (the real Denali would be around $200), also with a minimum order of 12.  Possibly some baseball caps too (which would be either black and red, or white, NOT yellow as shown). If enough people are interested...

I'd get in on 4 of the hoodies if we can round up enough orders to put it over 12. If you'd prefer, I could put the order in and take payment in MΣC (~3000 MΣC ea. or whatever.) Or, if you want to arrange it, that works even better for me  Wink I really like the idea, though.

As far as the jacket goes: if it's cold enough to wear a North Face Denali outside, I don't go outside  Grin

Those look pretty awesome too, though. I'd have to pass on the jacket...but I did get a chuckle out of picturing myself removing the jacket at a restaurant or something...and having the hoodie on underneath  Cheesy

I definitely agree not having MΣC on higher-volume exchanges is holding it back. I would approach things with more urgency...but I take solace in the fact that as long as it remains Cryptsy-only, it's cheaper to buy and easier to mine. I think that when MΣC starts to stabilize over a $500k market cap, it'll be pretty simple to get it listed on other exchanges. BTC-E might be pretty far down the road (unlike Cryptsy, they don't want to potentially dilute their existing coins' volumes by adding another currency) but I'm sure that the other exchanges are just around the corner. Once MΣC is over a $1M market cap, BTC-E will start considering it. At this point, I'm not interested in paying out bribes to exchanges -- if they require a bribe and can't see the value in adding MΣC, it might not be the right fit. There is a new exchange that will be popping up in the near-future that will be listing MΣC out-of-the-gates...and in addition to that, I'm working on launching a MΣC/BTC/USD exchange myself (MΣC-centric and designed for fewer, high-value trades. Planning to initially set the minimum buy/sell order value at $25.00 or 0.2 BTC.) The only hang-up on my end is ensuring everything is in order on the legal side of things -- as soon as USD gets involved, things get complicated. Leaving other government currencies out of the equation didn't simplify it quite as much as I thought. Realistically, I'm about 6 weeks out from launching it.

I can imagine the complications involved once you involve USD.. Planning on doing some kind of ACH transfer options for people to easily buy and sell their mec for fiat?

You need to actively contact these Exchanges and ask. I know bholzer and I have been in contact with a few exchange devs discussing implementing MEC, but the more interest that is shown, the better our chances.

https://vircurex.com/ have expressed interest and are looking into megacoin, but if you have a spare moment, why not drop them a query about it, or discuss the advantages of megacoin, as the dev will only implement coins he can distinguish against copy cats.

Just start querying vendors and exchanges, planting that seed in their mind, when MEC rolls out a few more services, the exchanges and vendors will have already start taking notice.

P.S. I would love some winter wear but can only wear it 2 months out of the year, would love a Shirt option if possible.

I just sent them an e-mail and Skype message politely asking if they would consider adding MEC to their exchange and also explained a few of the things that set MEC apart from other altcoins out there. I hope anyone else who hasn't yet does the same! And thanks to you guys for taking the lead and inspiring us to do the same.

I've got everything worked out as far as transferring fiat out to the users...but we're still working on the best way for them to transfer USD into the exchange. Worst-case scenario, we'll initially launch with USPS Money Orders as the sole funding option. Not ideal (since it's slow...) but at this point, it would still offer the path of least resistance to acquiring Megacoins for USD.

I will take at least 2 of the hoodies myself, so we are halfway there already. I plan to place a bigger order at some point in the future, but we are also 6 weeks or more away from getting our online store up and running. If you want to place the order, I would be fine with paying in MΣC since transferring $ would just complicate the process. Whatever is easiest... Hopefully we can get a few more people interested, and get this done.

My partner suggested the jackets should have a bigger Megacoin logo on the back with "Megacoin, Your Global Currency" underneath.  Grin  Possibly an idea for some T-Shirts...

This sounds like a seriously challenging project! Once we have an easy way to buy and sell MΣC for USD it will get interesting very fast.  Cool

I wish we only had 2 months of cold weather here.  Sad  Some T-Shirts and Polos are definitely in the plans. With most sites, it's a choice between price, and the number of shirts you must buy to get a reasonable price. I will check out some options in the near future, and let you know.

Response from mcxNOW about adding MEC is that they are not interested in any more "Bitcoin clones" unless it is top 5 market cap. So, that's our goal people. Tongue

You will see a lot of exchanges say "We are not interested, but for a donation we can..." and then hold out their hands.

MΣC isn't a Bitcoin clone, it's better than Bitcoin. I believe that was the ultimate goal of MΣC's design. Eventually everyone else will figure it out.  Wink
