using the logic "it wont pass 100USD...oh wait it did", means absolutely nothing for future values. Thats like saying any stock that has hit over 100USD must surely hit 1000USD. Dont work that way, if it did all of us would be rich long before the bitcoins existed.
Certainly, but the reverse is also true. Choosing an arbitrary number and claiming that it won't hit that number, just because the number sounds big to you now, means absolutely nothing as well. That's like saying a stock that is at $30 per share won't hit an equivalent of $100 per share because $100 is a "really big number". Don't work that way, if it did all of us would be rich long before bitcoins existed.

yes they will, most likely. i hope.
The odds of Bitcoin going to $1000 are as good, or even better, of it going back to $0.01 at this point. Something to think about anyways. We will find out soon enough. It should be by next year sometime based on the logarithmic charts.

I have a feeling there's going to be a massive correction. I know it's still young but no price rallies about 150% in a matter of weeks because of high demand in china. More news is needed to make the price move so aggressively. It's another bubble people be careful.

Hey wanna buy my Monster Energy stock for 5x face value? Look at how huge it jumped from the time it was still Hansen Beverage!

No it's not a bubble, it was going down yesterday and yet it went back up. There is actually a lot of buy support now.

Probably in next 6 months... at this point it's completely achievable even without major bullish news like W. twins fund approval, or Amazon integration. Anyway its important milestone but not some major pivotal point.

when price was about 3.5 dollars, there were discussions if it would ever reach 10 dollars.
not even triple the price. 1000 is history soon TM

Bitcoin may reach the 1000$ limit, but only if massive audience gets interested in the business worldwide. If it doesn't get banned or the whole system doesn't crash it will, without doubt reach even 10k$.

it wont pass 100 USD....oh wait, we already reached it The thread is talking about $1000. Im all for it hitting 100USD, but using the logic "it wont pass 100USD...oh wait it did", means absolutely nothing for future values. Thats like saying any stock that has hit over 100USD must surely hit 1000USD. Dont work that way, if it did all of us would be rich long before the bitcoins existed. i guess you dont understand bitcoin yet when you believe, that the price will never hit 1000 USD...

It sure might, but I really can't imagine it doing more once past. Now that all the other alt coins are out and some trade as fractions of btc on btce I think that has to affect the 21 million only being relased attribute about bitcoin. So the truth is the supply is infiniate. Once investors realize this I think prices come crashing down. Until then skys the limit.

The bitcoin price will naturally be increasing over time because of the high demand and decreasing supply. I think that the price will eventually rise to near enough figure - with regards to all the business investments, public knowledge of bitcoins and the development of more bitcoin services that will boost the price gradually and prevent sudden crashes from being too steep or crippling to the value. That leaves everyone in the rough position of deciding whether or not to buy or sell now.

good point. I think the novelty aspect will come into play. Alot of people will be "put off" that they may not be able to afford o "whole coin" only a fraction of one?

That's why it's important that we see more initiative to develop and distribute systems that make bitcoin a viable payment vehicle, both physically and online, to allow it to behave more as a currency instead of a commodity. We may stop seeing these two-day doublings and triplings, but we can be more confident it's long term value as wealth knowing that it's usability, at least, remains high. Until perceived stability of the currency is brought up to par, by fostering additional use cases or otherwise, the venture of bitcoin mining, economically speaking, will remain speculative.

Very soon, I will look back and see that 0.00020485BTC transaction fee deducted from my first transaction is really super expensive --- will be like daylight robbery -- (even though right now I am already think it is so --- because I had only transferred 0.001btc from one wallet to another as an experiment without knowing that cost before doing it).

How high will it go? I have just stated to notice bitcoin in the past two three months and it took me a very long time to figure out how to store them securely. I downloaded an app to try out first but soon it notify me that it was 'compromised'.
Up till now I had only 0.00374BTCs gathered from many free bitcoin websites. The current high price is overly scarily high, and I do not have source to mine them at all. But I really DO NOT WANT to get left behind this heated trend of bitcoin and regret myself deeply in the future!

According to those twins, $1000 is nothing, $35,000 is the way to go.
