I have a full rig populated and am trying to figure out how to get this thing mining. I can log into the ip address using my laptop via the bitfury admin page and set the pools address along with my username and password. However when I hit start mining, nothing happens. If I look at my screen hooked up to the raspberry pi, it asks for a login and password. I think the raspberry pi doesn't like my sidewinder x4 Microsoft keyboard has it constantly looks to have a stuck key. Not to mention when I try to type a password, nothing shows. It makes typing on this keyboard quite difficult. I'm thinking I might need to pick up a basic keyboard.

Anyone have a good how to setup link

We seem to be suffering from the same problem. I think it's an issue with the firmware not being installed correctly. However, I'm not sure how to fix it yet.

RE: heatsinks.. I'm positive its not the temperatures. I have a large box fan on them and the temp in the room is about 73 degrees... I have a 20k BTU A/C to help keep things cool.

I got my unit running with bfgminer, the only thing I could get chainminer to do was output

"M-Board version 2 detected
INIT: 256 chips detected"

Now I'm having issues with bfgminer outputting this, and the hashrate dropping.

Not only did mine need that heat sink on the regulator on both sides but I found that if I covered the entire exposed part on the back they worked even better. I bought small heatsinks so they dont touch the traces.

.stat.log doesn't exist because chainminer isn't working right, not the other way around. Try running chainminer directly like this, to see if it gives any explanation for not working:
Code:
sudo killall -q miner ; cd /run/shm ; sudo /opt/bitfury/chainminer/miner

 Thanks. Turns out I had a few problems;

 1) miner was not built.
 2) so far 1 bad hboard out of 32. Will get the second rig up-and-running later this evening.
 3) Here's the results of getting a rig to work :| Big-ass fan blowing on it... 850W power supply.

Guys how much would it cost per board to manufacture and assemble the H-boards in quantity of 100? I am thinking of getting it done in the USA, since H-boards are not available and only chips are available Sad

The PCB layout is simple enough, someone here made an 8-chip h-board and shared the design. They had it manufactured by oshpark.com Easy enough to hand solder.

Okay I want to brainstorm my ideas a little bit.
Here's what I am going to do. I am thinking of decoupling the voltage regulator from the PCB since it causes so much overheating issues. It will reduce board BOM and hopefully faster turnaround by PCB manufacturer.

I am planning to use multiples of this regulator since the output can be paralleled (~$55 e.a.)

http://www.intersil.com/en/tools/reference-designs/isl8225meval3z.html

a) Order chips ($25 ea on megabigpower.com)
b) Order decoupling capacitors for ASICs
c) Get PCB made and assembled by the PCB company (only solder ASIC + decoupling caps. No need to solder voltage regulator section)
d) Order Voltage regulators
e) Test assembled cards
f) Mine
g) If successful, sell to interested parties Wink

You'll have no margins for profit if chips are $25 ea.  That's $400 for the ASICs alone.

And I think it's generally expected when MGP and BFSB started selling H boards again they're going to have to price them at less than $300 per board or they'll generate very little interest.

Does anyone know what this means? I'm having to restart bfgminer around every 5-10 minutes.

I couldn't get chainminer to work at all, all it does is freeze at

"M-Board version 2 detected
INIT: 256 chips detected"

At least bfgminer mines for a while.

That's happened to me with chainminer before. I just rebooted the rPi or restarted chainminer until it worked. Also, be patient, sometimes it takes a minute or two to get past that point.

OK, I can manually run chainminer with this:

Code:
sudo killall -q miner ; cd /run/shm ; sudo /opt/bitfury/chainminer/miner

But all I get is "INIT: 64 chips detected" (after I compiled)

What's next?

EDIT:  I got it to work by deleting existing chainminer & cloning & making a new copy

Your errors overkill more than 50% and if you are not going to run 850W with 2 full kits.

Swapped out the PSU for a Corsair AX1200.

Chainminer runs fine for a little bit, then a few boards start dropping down to 0GH/s.

BFGMiner is a fail spamming all sorts of nastiness.

 *sigh* Very frustrating Sad

These guys are finicky Sad Have some big-ass fans keeping them cool, so I can't imagine they are overheating Sad Room is 76C.

Below you can see the few boards that are starting to reach 0GH after starting strong.

BFGMiner has been running for 35 minutes now, might have been a heat issue. Its cold outside now and I leave the window in the server room open.

The 1 dead H-board is still dead tho. I might try immersion cooling after it gets RMA'd
