Because there are too many projects. Some projects imitate previous projects that dilute the ICO system.

I believe most ICOs will fail in 2018. Many ICOs coming on board with no regulations. Reason why they will fail

Why do not ICO work in 2018?
A lot of fraudulent IDLs have appeared who use the same advisers in a circle, create a mythical idea, brilliantly conduct an advertising campaign and disappear with money, and this is no less than 20% of this market.
Personally, I invest in projects that already have a prototype of a working product or the team has already launched other successful projects. I estimate whether the product of the campaign is necessary to people in general.
Now I liked EOT. This is a game platform based on the blockbuster, they have already created several games.

For some reason I do not think that the ICO will end this year. I think that at least throughout 2019 ICO will be held and the number of them will not decrease.

sure even more and more will want to try luck in ICO project, this is a new way to bridge investors and a project just maybe the future is even better, than just a fake ICO and a scam  Smiley

In my opinion you are absolute nuts to belive that ICO's will fail in 2018. I heard this back in 2015 , I heard this in 2017 so I guess it's just normal. No matter what the markets want , if a good project and a good ICO will appear , all of us will jump on it. Yes , there are many ICO's right now , but who cares ? Only the strongest will surive lel.
is it possible that nowadays many projects are dead suddenly and thus resulted in many people who invest in some ICO to fail and cannot get profit then of that I am sure soon will all be back and well, let alone ICO itself is a little bit not believed

Well ICOs have had mixed reaction kind of thing , no one can really tell whether they will fail, if they will fail or when they will fail, it's just impossible, as in as much as there has been scam reports about them, they still keep popping up and people still keep investing, the hopes of it dieing is therefore nothing legit

No way! ICOs won't fall in 2018, it is only a start of crypto boom, so ICO are growing in number.
After a bullrun, there will be much more ICOs and more and more people will fell positive about crypto

2018 can be considered as the success of the ICO; there are many ICO launches in 2018 although not the end of the year. But besides that, there are many things and emerging that the ICO scam campaign is very much. It is therefore likely that large ICOs will not last long if there is no proper management.

I don't trust articles and analysts . It's too early to say that the ico will end .Ico is gaining momentum
There are no persons that can really tell what is going to happen tomorrow and it is the same with what will happen to ICOs if they will fail or not. One thing i have observe that during the year 2017 there are many ICOs are successful but this year there are many ICOs that are scams.

You are right. More ICOs will fail in 2018, while a few of them will still succeed.
ICOs are much hyped since 2017. It will become more reasonable in 2018.
In 2017, almost all ICOs are selling well, easily raising more than 20 million dollars.
It won't happen in 2018. Investors are more savvy now.

Many ICO that fail this year is due to some fake ICO that leads to a scam. so that investors are no longer interested in ICO, even many media reported that investment in ICO has a very high risk because it has no regulation from the government

I came across this article
https://www.financemagnates.com/thought-leadership/ico-will-fail-2018/

And wanted to know if you agree -- are these the reasons why ICOs will fail in 2018?
What type of PR strategies do you look for in an ICO? What types of things create the most buzz? What things are old news?

Thoughts?

in my opinion, not all ico fail in 2018, there are also successful ico like, lympo and bluzelle, who say all ico fail, that's not right, if you want to buy ico, choose ico its a good project

I do not hink that they will fail. This organisation of the system is developing and there will be more modern and smart way to improve them and to create new.

I don't agree: there are good ICOs and bad ones. The important point it's to chose wisely.

Looking at the project as a whole and looking at the team behind it, is very important to make a correct decision.

If I can give you guys my opinion, I discovered an exciting ICO that is very interesting: RAWG.

Check out this great article by Sergey Ulankin, RAWG's Editor-in-Chief, where he explains what has been done so far and what will be the future updates:

https://medium.com/rawg/wp-bits-5-vision-and-current-state-69127bfbeb2a

The ICO will start in a short period and they are at the moment in pre-ICO phase. This is the ICO site: https://token.rawg.io/. It's a video game discovery platform that converts your skills into goods and services (the site is already working, with more than 57,000 games in the database) and, which is very interesting, they have already reached the soft cap.

Have a look and get some information while doing your own research!

Another interesting point: RAWG has already secured $5m USD, halfway to hard cap of $10m!

At the moment, people have lost confidence in ICO since as early as 2018 many fraudsters began to deceive people and steal money, because of which people have lost a lot of money and are now afraid to invest

Perhaps now people believe less in new ICO than a few years ago. Last year there were a lot of ICO and most of them were scum.

This year there will be a revolution among the ICO system. Investors have already learned how to analyze ICO correctly and therefore only promising projects with a good idea will survive.

ICO will not fail at all, but if they have only confident specialists in crew. I think everything depends on people so if they make right choices and have a plan, ICO will not fail.

Interestingly enough most ico are said to be successful when they collect the full hard cap - which less and less ICOs do nowadays. I as an investor would say it’s successful when the price goes up afterwards and stays positive. But most of the time after an initial peak the price drops significantly until - if at all - the project makes some major steps forward.
So I personally like the fact that the hype around ICOs is a bit low right now which might produce more realistic pricing of new projects.
