I have started to mine today following the instructions of tomos. My CPU has a real little hashrate (16h/s), less than I get on webminers. My CPU is i7 920. Can somebody give me a hint on how to configure it properly?

My GPU (Geforce 760) has the same hashrate I got during a test on Minergate (something around 260 h/s). Can I get more from that? In this case, how to configure the miner?

Thanks

you can go to https://www.xmrstak.com/ and get the settings for the config to get better mining

the settings are in nvidia.txt and cpu.txt in the miner directory..

And what about the config.txt that tomos posted? Should I ignore it? Sorry for the questions, but I am a total newbie

use XMR STAK and use that config. for the config.txt. the cpu.txt and nvidia.txt are for the cpu and nvidia graphics card.
It seems that my CPU has a kind of bottleneck in L3 memory. More than 4 threads I can't run at a time. Tried to add manually the other 4, but with no results. My old donkey more than this can't do, clearly

Maybe it's time to change it for something belonging to 21st century  Smiley

ignore the threads. its the actual CPU cores. if its a dual core then it will be 0 and 2 or as mine had 4 cores its 0,2,4,6. it doesnt use threads.

Ok. I managed to start xmr-stak excluding the CPU. Now it mines with tha GPU only and, even if the hashrate is significantly lower than the one I got on Minergate (150-160 h/s on tomos vs 220-230 on Minergate) it works.

I have tried to launch the miner downloaded on tomos' site, changed the bat file according to instructions, but it does not start. It gives an error like "number 75 cannot ... in some .dll file"

Any clue of what I'm doing wrong? According to what I have read in this thread, it should be possible to use two miners at the same time

Thanks for your patience
could be 1 of 2 things. xmrstak is 64 bit and your not on a 64 bit OS.  or your missing a DLL.

1) check the os version is 64 bit

2) go to https://www.dll-files.com/ and get the version of the DLL you need and put it into the miner directory.  see if that helps. and make sure you get the DLL for 64bit..

also minergate could be mining a different coin and therfore a different hash rate.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

This happens when margin trading goes bad and markets are limp. Do consider that I started mining on March 16th so I never received a payment lol, some of you who started earlier when markets were bullish on decemeber got something at least. By now let's hope for the next friday.

BTC price is almost going to be half the price it was about 2 months ago. Because of this, I would assume that if we would get paid today we wouldnt be getting 300 satoshis per mil. To be honest i dont know about you but since i am not planning to convert my available BTC to usd any time soon, I personally prefer to be paid when the market is growing again.

Tomos , Tomos - you have to throw us a bone...and soon...
And what has the bitcoin price to do with the satoshis? Even now I see how many satoshis I have mined and that is how many bitcoins I am going to get no matter of the Tomos investments, right?
Correct me if I am wrong but its been too long between payments especially when Tomos is no where to be seen anymore...

I believe the satoshis you are seeing are the conversion from the total hashes you have mined to satoshi, using the conversion 300 satoshi per 1million hashes. Obviously the 300 satoshis were given when bitcoins, along with other coins were valued at their highest price. Now that most coins have lost their value to almost half, it probably means that your conversion would not be 300 satoshis per mil, but maybe 200 or 150, which means you would be getting a lot less than what you are seeing.

hi , quick update from holiday:

- ETN is still not fixed, waiting for that cryptopia bug fix
- other markets are quiet because of bitcoin price, waiting for btc price growing ( i hope tuesday will start to grow)
- i will start to work on new payment system right when i will return from holidays (tuesday) - will pay everything i will sell in pieces -  it means i will split sold satoshis based on user shares, deduct a piece of mined hashes and pay to faucethub..  this way i will be able to compensate everything in few weeks.

cheers
