Yes, it could happen. now Ethereum continues to show considerable improvement. so it can be said Ethereum is ready to combat Bitcoin position and become the number 1 coin in Cryptocurrency.

it is true that if Etherium continues to show a good improvement for the future then it might eventually beat the bitcoin in the rankings but not in terms of who initiates cryptocurrency

Well almost all of us already know the current situation in the crypto market nowadays that all of the crypto currencies or altcoins out there are really bleeding out on their market value as of this moment and I'm sure many of those altcoins and crypto currencies out there will just be turned to a garbage  token or cryptocurrencies and ethereum on the other hand suffers also just like bitcoin and all the other altcoins and crypto currencies out there so I really think that ethereum will not yet be able to overtake bitcoin on its current position.

We all know the current condition of the crypto market today and I'm sure that ethereum will still find it very hard to overtake bitcoin as of now. Yes bitcoins market value is very volatile as of this moment but still bitcoin is still the most trusted and leading crypto currency in the crypto market today which has the highest market value and with that being said ethereum will still remain next to bitcoin wherein bitcoin being on the top.

There have a little bit possible to overcome bitcoin. Bitcoin is number one currency in the crypto world. Ethereum is second position in the currency world. So i don't so think that Ethereum overcome bitcoin within 1-3 years.

For now I think ethereum has not been able to take over bitcoin but for some time to come it might just happen. I hope so too if ethereum can take over the bitcoin it will be amazing.

I don't think that Etherium will ever manage to bitcoin as cryptocurrency No. 1 because all of us know that the Bitcoin has much more users and investors in comparison with Etherium which is younger. Always was in all news that the bitcoin is on continuous increase in its market value, despite some time when its market value falls. He always seeks to rise again, covering your losses and acquiring profit.

Yes i agree with you, bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencies and however ethereum is just copy cat of bitcoin with some new feature are like smart contract and decentralize application (dapps) of course include scaling and security problem too. if we know ethereum be used for payment on the most ICO but doesn't mean it will overtake the bitcoin.

Yeah it is but everything about the crypto world is unpredictable and there are just so few we can imagine, knowing that what is meant to happen, will happen eventually. I am not sure bitcoin will remain stagnant, and a lot of progress is going on which would make bitcoin usable as currency but for now, it would be a hard time for any currency to overtake bitcoin, but nothing is easy in the world of crypto.

Yes everything can be happen in cryptos coins world including ethereum can overtake the bitcoin, but i don't think it will happen at least for today due to on ethereum's platform still there are the weakness on there, it will makes difficult for ethereum to switch from proof of work to proof of stake PoS, but let's wait and see what will be done by developers of team.

taking Bitcoin's position is not as easy as turning a hand. so for Ethereum itself must try hard to get it. for myself, I'm not too sure about Ethereum taking over Bitcoin.

I dont think that ethereum will overtake bitcoin. Bitcoin always leads the market even though its price is going down day by day. But who knows maybe one day or so.

Ethereum is a great coin, no doubt about that, but saying that it would overtake Bitcoin is something that couldn't be quite possible.
Bitcoin is the number 1 coin in digital currencies, no other coin can replace it at the moment.
