Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

As we already stated, chip documentation isn't ready yet for public distribution.
We will start distribution to third parties when hashing power deployed will meet the goals we have set. This is our top priority right now.
We want to mention that we have received interview requests from several well know parties, CNN and Bloomberg being the most prominent and late progress with our 65nm design lead us to believe we will deploy 200-300 TH within 2013.
so the documentation is not ready yet but you are going to start hashing in 6 days? why not say 2 weeks like BFL? The documentation is needed for third party developers who are not familiar with the chip. Why would LC need it if they have the knowledge to actually create the documentation in the first place? |

Anyone else noticed how precise is the timing with the updated every time share price stars droping ? Every. Time. So unlike some others they actually give a fuck about the shareholders and defending the share price rather than taking a vow of silence once they've got their IPO money. How awful for us! |

Labcoin doesn't pay dividends until they hash. He's saying he'll start a company with the explicit business model of creating fake companies and doing insider trading to manipulate the prices and then pay dividends to the 'real' company using money made by manipulating prices on the fake companies. It's a pretty ingenious, if diabolical business model. Obviously illegal in the "real" world. Possibly illegal even if you were just doing it with bitcoins. |

My only reservation is that they didn't lock their shares like they said they would, so we don't know if or how much skin the founders have in this game. See the problem? |

It's worth more than it was an hour ago so I doubt it's going back to where it was before LC posted. Previously we had assurances of 50+Th/s coming online soon with almost zero proof and now we have assurances that 200 - 300Th/s are coming online soon...also with almost zero proof. Whether you find their story credible or not, it's still an improvement.

Minus the clever scarequotes, there's actual news here. They've been working with the chips and have encountered nothing that will throw them off schedule. That's massively good news. If they were fraudsters, this is when we'd start seeing excuses for a minor delay. We're not seeing that. |
